The creator of the world has become one of us! What an amazing event! With all the troubles that seem to come along in life, we seem to forget what has really happened here.
The house above was the first house that Becky and I bought in Fort Wayne. We've had a couple more houses since then but these are not our home. Home is the place where our family is and eventually our home is with our heavenly Father. That knowledge gives us the freedom to live in peace and joy with a desire to tell others about the home that the Lord is preparing for them as well. As we celebrate Jesus coming to earth, let us all rejoice in knowing that we have an eternal home in His kingdom.
John 14 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
Anthony is in his final year at the University of Florida with a major in Computer Engineering. We tailgated with he and Isabel for a football game and enjoy the times they come visit. He is looking forward to graduating in May!
Natalie and AJ continue to stay busy with work and their new dog, Cash. They took trips to Latvia, Oregon, and went to the Iowa-Nebraska football game this year. Natalie started a new young adult group, and AJ has gotten more involved in the leadership of the Men's ministry at church.
Jacob and Mallory purchased their first home this year in Austin TX. They love hosting everyone they know, and can do it much better than they did in their 550sf rental. They have plenty of guest rooms now for anyone who wants to visit Austin!
Becky is working at Servpro while I'm in my 20th year at St. Luke's. We made trips to Austin and Ohio together this year and New Smyrna for our 34th anniversary.
We have spent more time with my mom this year. She fell in September and in November moved into the Lutheran Haven memory care facility. Becky's mom and dad continue to live in their home in Marion IA and Becky has been able to visit several times during the year.
We had a great time in May traveling to Al and Laraine's wedding in Ohio. Visiting cousins from Cleveland and visiting Deshler, Hamler, Toledo and Fort Wayne made it a fun trip!
We've had plenty of visitors during the year and would love to see you too! Come on down to Florida and enjoy the sunshine with us. :)
