2025
Every day brings something new. It's easy to get caught up in all the bad news of the day. The Christmas message brings a different view point though to each day. We see that God actually became human to save us! If He is willing to do that, I know that He is caring for us and bringing us good gifts. The Bible tells us exactly that. Thousands of years of stories from people that saw God work in their lives tells us that. In our lives, we have seen that God is faithful and has provided all that we need. We thank Him today for the gift of the baby Jesus and the message of eternal life with Him.
Becky continues to watch our granddaughters and has completed a lot of crochet projects for the grandkids! (and more Lego builds 🙂)
I continue to serve as CAO at St. Luke’s It continues to grow and change so a major focus for me this year will be a Master Planning Process. I am still having fun with my 3D printer. Getting older hit me harder this year with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Surgery is scheduled for late January for removal.
Anthony and Isabel (Gainesville FL) had quite a first year of marriage. A January move to Denver Colorado for Isabel's internship and then back to Gainesville for her graduation. (PHD in Mechanical Engineering). Anthony continues to take on new roles at his company as the software world continues to change. It was great to satisfy our mountain 'fix' in June with a trip to Rocky Mountain National park and time with Anthony and Isabel.
Natalie and AJ (Orlando FL) stay busy as a family. Jamie turned four and loves to play. Little sister Chelsea loves her big sister and started preschool two days a week. Natalie is sill working from home overseeing pensions with the largest engergy company in the U.S. AJ is the evening supervisor at St. Luke's and continues to help with the men's ministry. The summer saw more time with Natalie and AJ and girls with plenty of pool time.
Jacob and Mallory (Austin TX) welcomed their new son Sawyer in June. He is a happy young baby and Emerson is a great big brother! Becky and I traveled to Austin in February, July to meet Sawyer and again in November for his baptism. Emerson enjoys his days at preschool. Jake accepted a full time position in technology at St. Francis elementary this year and Mallory is teaching some classes at Austin Community College along with her work at a girl's empowerment organization.
After updating our living room last year, we took on the kitchen this year! We are finishing in time for Christmas with a new open layout for our kitchen, dining and living room area. (Glad to have help from brothers Wally, John and Tim!!) Becky was able to travel to Cedar Rapids for a visit with mom in October and see sister Christy as well. We were gifted a week at a condo on the beach in May. Our yard is full of beautiful blooms and I enjoyed our four pineapples! We had a good time with Jessica and Matt and the girls and enjoyed celebrating retirements with both Lois and Wally. Overall, we feel very blessed by the Lord and continue to let that joy fill us up every day.
All our love in Christ, Steve & Becky
