Alumni of Legacy T&T

Where are they now?

Casey Chandler

My time at Legacy T&T was an amazing journey!  I got to travel the world  for Team USA and Legacy T&T.  I was able to experience the highest of highs. World Championships, Olympic Trials, National Championships, Pan Americans... I got to compete internationally with some of the greatest people of the sport.  It has been a blessing that I never thought I could reach.  Placing 1st at US Nationals, 3rd in Canada for the USA, 3rd place Team at Pan America Championships, being a part of three World Championships teams, all while competing along side some of the best in the world would have never been possible without Legacy T&T's support!

To my coaches Richelle and Mig, who have tirelessly motivated and encouraged me to no end to keep going and never settle.  Without you pushing me and teaching me to never give up on myself, I would have never set foot on this unbelievable path of success. Thank you for all the motivating talks and hours of laughter!  I thank God that I have been blessed enough to be where I am because of EVERYONE who has helped me.

I am now retired from competing and enjoy the extra time with my wife and three children.  I coach artistic gymnastics at Motion Matrix in Grants Pass, Oregon, where I get to pass on the knowledge I have learned during my time as an athlete.  Legacy T&T, thank you so much for giving me so many opportunities, you will forever be family!

My time at Legacy T&T made me who I am today.  Without the direction of Mig and Richelle, I would never have had the opportunity to be a Cirque du Soleil acrobat!  Not only did I learn air awareness, consistency, and discipline with them, but I also learned about who I am and who I wanted to be as a person.  There was a time where I had hit a roadblock and I felt very stuck.  Coming to my coaches Mig and Richelle, I was told that I had potential, that I could achieve the goals I had set, and that they saw in me greatness that I could not yet see myself.  One of those goals was joining Cirque du Soleil.  I achieved this goal and am now training in Montreal because of my coaches and teammates.  I can profoundly say that I found opportunity and purpose because of T&T, specifically Legacy!

I am currently a Junior on the University of Bridgeport Gymnastics team in Connecticut.  I will always be grateful for growing up with T&T.  Being involved in T&T not only gave me the foundation of technique and structure in gymnastics, but it also left me with priceless memories that I will always cherish.  This sport will always hold a special place in my heart!

Brian Lyon

I’m currently living in Florida and have been working as a professional firefighter for the city of Mount Dora.  Legacy T&T was an amazing time for me and I will always miss it! It gave me the opportunity to travel around the country and see so much, I will never forget it!

I was a Legacy T&T team member for 6 years and I absolutely loved it!  I would get to see some of my best friends multiple times a week for practice and was lucky enough to be able to travel around the country for competitions.  Because tumbling was my favorite event (and muscle memory is a real thing) I am still able to do some pretty impressive skills for an "ex" athlete who retired almost 10 years ago.  I have been able to flip and perform for the Nutcracker these last 10 years because of the training I received at Legacy T&T.  Mig and Richelle saw the potential in me that I didn't know I had!  Because of them, I am proud to be a multi National medalist and US National Champion!  I now have life-long friends and family that I know I will always have,  and I will always feel like a member of the Legacy team family!

My most memorable moment in gymnastics? Winning the US National Championships while representing Legacy T&T! I spent 9 years of my life competing as an artistic gymnast, but at the age of 18, I decided to retire to focus on my academics.  Mig had different plans for me! She encouraged me to keep my body in motion and join Legacy T&T's Competitive Team. Mig was more than my gymnastics coach, she was my mentor and life coach. She cared about me as an individual both inside and outside the gym. She helped me power through my mental blocks while also keeping me focused, confident, and physically strong. With Legacy T&T, I was able to become National Champion!  Since then, I have earned my Bachelors in Science degree from UNR, as well as my Masters in Education from Sierra Nevada College.  I currently teach elementary school in Reno.  Legacy T&T will always hold a special place in my heart as one of the best moments of my life!

Since my time at Legacy T&T, I joined the Marines, met my wife, got married, and had a son.  T&T  brought me such joy and fond memories! Nothing quite like setting up the trampoline outside in the parking lot for some awesome summertime bouncing!

When I was 13, I had decided to stop doing artistic gymnastics. When I first heard of Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T), I came out of retirement and decided to give it a try. With Legacy T&T, I was surrounded by amazing teammates and a great coaching staff which helped lead me to my first ever US National Trampoline Title!  Legacy also helped pave the way for me to continue sports in college and I am forever grateful. This sport is amazing and Legacy T&T is the best!

I just finished my last year of school and gymnastics at the University of Utah. I spent five seasons as a Red Rock. I graduated with my degree in Kinesiology and now I am working towards my nursing degree. Legacy T&T brought life long friends, family, and new opportunities that I will be forever grateful for! It gave me happiness and showed me if you had fun doing it, it would never feel like work!
