On a typical Saturday, you might find me spending time with my family, whether it is driving them around from one activity to the next, or enjoying quality time on the lake or at the campground.

I love teaching social studies because because it empowers students to participate in, and change, their public world. During this course students will be asked to identify issues that impact their community in a major way. After proper research, they will advocate for a change they would like to see, and push for that change. Students will find stakeholders that will sometimes help, and sometimes stand in the way of their projects. There will be disappointments, there will be victories, but in the end, it is our hope that they persevere.
American government and civic responsibility is something that I take very seriously. By the end of this class your student will have a better understanding of how to participate in their government, and how to use their power to impact change.
On a typical Saturday, you might find me in nature. I may be hiking, scouting, fishing, foraging, or just reading a book in my backyard after doing a bit of gardening. My wonderful dog Penny will be by my side for most of these activities.
