For my class, families can help their students succeed by having a space in your home for your student to be able to attend Google Meets without interruption, asking your student to share their successes in math with you, and encouraging your student to contact me if they need help.
I love teaching math because even though not every student considers math their favorite subject, they all have the ability to learn it and learn FROM it when they persevere.
On a typical Saturday, you might find me awake early with a cup of coffee and grading, or spending time with Mr. Bednarz and our daughter.

For my class, families can help their students succeed by analyzing student work by comparing their work to released answer keys with worked out solutions.
I love teaching math because math is one of those subjects that sometimes causes stress and anxiety, and I love helping students realize that they are capable problem-solvers by breaking down the skills and wording to make the problem "doable."
On a typical Saturday, you might find me running along the Mystic river or taking in beautiful scenery during a long walk.

For my class, families can help their students succeed by ensuring students take the time each night to complete the pre-recorded/asynchronous instruction and practice sets in preparation for the live class the next day. Encouraging students in reaching out for extra help when they are having difficulty.
I love teaching math because it is typically a content area that many students feel frustrated and confused by. I love being able to work with them and over the course of the year not only deepen their understanding of content, but their confidence as a math student.
On a typical Saturday, you might find me getting in a long run and spending time with my wife and three kids.

I love teaching math because math is everywhere! There are very few jobs and careers that do not need math. Study more math and you can multiply your options.
On a typical Saturday, you might find me at McQuades Market in Mystic, working behind the deli counter. Perhaps I've waited on you before and we weren't yet acquainted.

For my class, families can help their students succeed by encouraging students to revise work when applicable and encouraging students to ask for extra help when they are struggling.
I love teaching math because I enjoy seeing the moment the concept "clicks" for the student. I enjoy working through a logic sequence of steps to arrive at a solution. The best discussions occur when students find an alternative way to solve a problem.... there is not just one "right" way to get to an answer.
On a typical Saturday, you might find me spending time with my family.
