For my class, families can help their students succeed by creating a space for them to feel creative while staying organized with the use of a calendar or white board to write on.
I love teaching visual arts because it is a way for all students, no matter what artistic abilities they have, to feel encouraged and empowered by what they create and what they learn. My goal is to show students that the art world is filled with acceptance, possibilities, and the ability to be a part of a community.
On a typical Saturday, you might find me playing outside with my one year old son, coaching LHS Volleyball, choosing which handmade coffee mug to drink from, and cooking or baking for my family and friends.

For my class, families can help their students succeed by asking your child to share their art, what they are learning in class, or sharing their art with others. Consider displaying their work in the home, and acknowledge that anyone can get enjoyment out of creating.
I love teaching visual arts because I believe that everyone has creative potential! One of my favorite sayings is "art helps people become more like themselves instead of more like everyone else" and I truly value helping others celebrate their individuality.
On a typical Saturday, you might find me doing something crafty, snuggling with my cats, or hanging out with family.
