Our 3rd Virtual Meeting and Cultural Exchange Session with our sister school in Taiwan, Fude Elementary School, was truly a memorable experience!
The Learning Circle, Inc. was honored to share a special part of our Filipino culture: pasalubong, or the tradition of bringing home gifts for loved ones. Our students joyfully presented a variety of snacks that are perfect as pasalubong, highlighting this simple yet meaningful way of saying, “I remember you.”
We also introduced some Filipino words inspired by English terms, which were used in our pasalubong-themed presentation. It was a fun and meaningful exchange of language and culture!
As we approach our commencement exercises on March 27, this may be our final virtual session for the school year. Still, we sincerely hope we were able to share something new and meaningful with our friends at Fude Elementary School.
We are already looking forward to more opportunities to connect again next school year!
March 09, 2026. 11:20 am to 12:00 noon.

2026 Scouting Investiture Ceremony
On January 29, 2026, Learning Circle School proudly celebrated its Scouting Investiture Ceremony for SY 2025–2026, a meaningful milestone for our young scouts.
During the ceremony, Kindergarten students were welcomed into the Scouting movement as Kid Scouts and Twinklers. Grade 1 students were promoted from Kid Scouts and Twinklers to Kab Scouts and Star Scouts. Grade 4 students were also promoted from Kab Scouts and Star Scouts to Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
The ceremony was graced by Sir Frank Santos, Scout Master, who delivered an inspiring message about the values and importance of joining the scouting movement.
Parents of the Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 4 scouts proudly tied the neckerchiefs on their children, symbolizing their transition to the next rank and their official membership in the scouting movement. Adding to the celebration, fellow scouts showcased their skills through impressive marches and lively dances.
The event highlighted unity and camaraderie, with scouts supporting and celebrating one another’s achievements.
It was truly a memorable and meaningful experience for everyone involved!
Learning Circle’s 2026 Field Trip: SciScape, National Museums, and Tales of Illumina
On January 22, 2026 (Thursday), Learning Circle students embarked on an exciting and enriching educational field trip, exploring this year’s incredible destinations. The journey began early, with the bus departing Olongapo at 5:30 a.m. and arriving at SciScape, our first stop, by 9:30 a.m.
SciScape Experience
At SciScape, students immersed themselves in the fascinating world of science through a variety of interactive stations. They explored Sandscape, where they dug and played in a sandy environment, and Aquascape, where they learned about underwater ecosystems and even had the opportunity to adopt a fish.
One of the highlights was the Mixing Lab, where Angelle, a Grade 6 student, was invited to participate in a live soap-making demonstration. Students also enjoyed many other attractions, including AuroraScape, an inflatable park where children delighted in swimming through a sea of balls, as well as themed zones focused on scent, space, gravity, dinosaurs, and agriculture.
At Dreamville City, students, parents, and teachers created their own customized keychains using Hama beads, which served as meaningful souvenirs of the day. Another crowd favorite was the Pizza Baking Station, where the irresistible aroma of freshly baked pizza filled the air. Students happily made their own pizzas! Some enjoyed them on the spot, while others proudly took theirs home in boxes to share with their families.
National Museums Visit
After a fun-filled morning, the group took a lunch break before heading to the next destinations: the National Museum of Anthropology and the National Museum of Natural History. Here, students explored various artifacts showcasing Philippine culture and history.
One of the most fascinating exhibits was the taxidermied body of Lolong, the largest crocodile ever held in captivity in the Philippines. Lolong, a saltwater crocodile, measured 20 feet and 3 inches, weighed 1,075 kilograms, and passed away on February 10, 2013. The students were amazed by his size and the story behind him.
Tales of Illumina
The final stop was Tales of Illumina, the Philippines’ first and largest fully immersive, multi-sensory attraction centered on Philippine folklore and mythology. Students explored stations depicting classic tales such as Ibong Adarna and Florante at Laura.
Some students created goo-based products, others enjoyed cocktail mixing activities, and the experience culminated in an epic theatrical and dance performance presented by the talented actors and actresses of Tales of Illumina.
Journey Home
The group arrived back at Learning Circle at 11:30 p.m. It was a long day, but one filled with exploration, wonder, learning, laughter, and meaningful bonding among students, teachers, and families! It was definitely a trip worth the sore feet and sleepy eyes.

On November 26, 2025, our teachers and staff successfully completed the Earthquake Awareness and Preparedness Training conducted by Engr. Allan B. Cuya, Occupational Safety and Health Consultant, together with Mamerto O. Estrellado and Eddu A. Calubad, both Occupational Safety and Health Practitioners.
The training was incredibly helpful in strengthening our emergency response, especially during earthquakes. It was a very hands-on session where Engr. Allan demonstrated the proper use of the spine board and taught us the correct posture during an earthquake that safety trainers now call the "tripod posture position" to protect ourselves during an earthquake. He also shared practical tips on recognizing early signs of an earthquake, such as placing a hanging object in the classroom to easily detect ground movement.
We are grateful for this valuable learning opportunity that enhances the safety and preparedness of our school community. Thank you to our dedicated trainers for guiding us!

This school year, our ever-creative Student Council cooked up a sweet surprise for our hardworking teachers in celebration of Teachers’ Month! Their original plan was to drop by each classroom on October 3, 2025, with a cheerful greeting, but Mother Nature had other plans! Classes were suspended due to bad weather, and the following week was exam week.
But the SLC didn’t give up! On October 13, 2025, they finally put their plan into action. Pretending they had an important announcement for the class, the officers marched in carrying a giant 3x5-foot tarpaulin that read “Happy Teachers’ Day!” They struck a fun pose, cheered with excitement, and handed each teacher a heartfelt letter, a gift, and a special token from Gina, the Creative Manager of the Student Academic Action Team.
The teachers were absolutely delighted by the thoughtful surprise, proof that even when plans get delayed, appreciation never expires!

Natapos ang buong pagdiriwang na may kasamang kasiyahan at ngiti sa mga mukha ng mga magulang, guro, at mag-aaral, isang patunay ng matagumpay na selebrasyon ng Buwan ng Wika.

"Fumigation for a Safer Learning Circle"
Last August 22, 2025, Learning Circle scheduled a school-wide fumigation to eliminate mosquitoes and other insects that may swarm the school grounds. This activity was done in coordination with the Olongapo City Health Department.
To ensure the safety of our learners, students only attended morning classes and were sent home by lunch. Fumigation was scheduled in the afternoon which was the best time since the following days (Saturday and Sunday) plus Monday’s holiday would give enough time for the fumes to fully subside before students return to school.
Olongapo City Health Department personnels: Mr. Maurelio Vera, Mr. Flaviano Peñalosa, and Mr. Jerry Abad visited the school with fumigation equipment. They thoroughly inspected the campus, ensuring that even hidden spots and corners were treated.
As shared by Mr. Vera:
“The fumes are not highly toxic to humans, but clearing the area is recommended as it may trigger asthma or breathing difficulties. We also inspected the school vicinity and found no stagnant water. For safety, this fumigation was coordinated with the Bureau of Fire to avoid false fire alarms caused by the fumes.”
With these precautions, we prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of our students while keeping the school environment clean and protected.

Health and Nutrition Day for Young Learners
Article by Teacher Grace M. Reyes
Last Wednesday, July 30, 2025, our Kinder and Primary Grader students took part in a special health and nutrition event at the City Pavilion, 3rd Floor, Medical Arts Building 1, across St. Jude Hospital.
The event was graciously hosted by Doctora Maricel Ridon, who delivered an engaging talk on the importance of healthy eating for growing children. Sponsored by Abbott Nutrition and Yakult Philippines, the young attendees enjoyed free PediaSure milk and Yakult drinks.
As a special treat, Doctora Ridon also provided free medical check-ups for all invited students. It was a fun and meaningful experience that promoted wellness and healthy habits among our young learners.

July 29, 2025. This year’s Nutrition Month was a vibrant showcase of creativity, health, and student spirit! The entire elementary community came together to celebrate the importance of good nutrition through a variety of engaging performances.
Each grade level lit up the stage with energetic dance numbers that highlighted the joy of healthy living.
The Special Needs Education Department (SNED) wowed the crowd with a delightful fruit-themed modeling show, promoting nutritious choices with flair and confidence.
Also, Grades 5 and 6 had a special performance that brought rhythm and harmony through a lively song performance paired with bucket drumming, proving that music and wellness go hand in hand. Learning Circle School, in partnership with SM Central Olongapo City, successfully conducted a Parent Day Seminar—an event organized to inform and empower parents about important contemporary parenting concerns.
The seminar was held on May 31, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and was open and free to all participants as part of Learning Circle’s Community Service initiative.
We were honored to have insightful and inspiring guest speakers:
🔹 Dra. Maricel Ridon-Cristobal shared about “Fostering a Healthy Lifestyle for Children at Home: A Focus on the Use of Gadgets and Mobile Phones.” She discussed the scientific effects of excessive gadget use among children and offered practical guidance for parents.
🔹 Atty. Maria Soledad Santos-Tejano spoke on “Advocating for Students with Special Needs.” Drawing from her own experience raising children with special needs, she encouraged parents to join support groups and become active advocates for their children’s development.
🔹 Mr. Rederick Niño Garcia, Leader in Me Coach from FranklinCovey Education Philippines, gave an overview of the 7 Habits and shared how these habits can support building leadership within the home.
We are deeply grateful to our resource speakers for sharing their knowledge and experience. Truly, it was an enriching afternoon of learning, reflection, and connection with the community.
Our young readers just finished "The Wild Robot" by Peter Brown — and wow, what a journey! They were so into the story that they read past the assigned chapters last Thursday to find out what happened next. There were tears, hugs, and big emotions as Roz made a tough decision in the end. 💔🤖💕
Huge shoutout to Teacher Kaith for guiding the kids through this beautiful story. You led them through a real experience of reading for pleasure. You didn’t just teach them — you showed them what it means to love reading. Mission accomplished! 🙌📖
Parents, thank you for sharing your children with us. In just two weeks, they built vocabulary, comprehension, and finished an entire novel! 🎉👏
Next week, we’re diving into "The Tale of Desperaux" — a tale of honor, hope, and adventure. Invite your friends! It will be awesome! 🐭⚔️
