For this project you need to find information about your assigned early civilization. You need to include books and databases as research sources. As you take your notes, remember to save copies of the articles and write down what source you used so you will be able to create a Works Cited page.
**All the databases provide the citation information for articles. Make sure you add the citation to your NoodleTools project. When copying the URL DO NOT copy the URL in the browser. Instead, copy the permanent URL included in the article record (if provided).
Most databases is allow you to use a keyword search, title search, or a subject search. For this project, try a keyword search first. This will search the full document for your search term, which will provide you the greatest number of results but some of the results may only talk about your topic in passing.
A subject search will provide you the smallest number of results but the article will be about your topic.

Searching the library catalogue is not the same as searching a database. The library catalogue searches the main subjects of a book. If you cannot find your term you may need to broaden your search. Once you have found the books, look in the index and/or table of contents for your topic.
Ebooks can be opened directly from the catalogue. You can search within an ebook or move to a specific page.
** Remember to search World Book, Infobase, and EBSCOhost individually in case new books have been added that are not on Destiny.
Start with the term you are researching but be prepared to narrow or broaden your terms depending on your search results. Always check the tags/subject headings of articles you find to see what other terms the database/catalogue may be using. These will help you decide on additional searches. Use the helps provided by the database - click "Related resources."
To broaden your search, think about what larger area your topic might be found in. Also think of synonyms or different ways to explain your topic.
