We have eBooks?

The Bonnycastle has over 30,000 eBooks through various databases. You can locate ebooks by searching:

The Sora app provides access to a wide range of audiobooks and ebooks. Bonnycastle has a partnership with the Winnipeg Public Library which allows students to connect their account to the Winnipeg Public Library so you may use their ebooks and audiobooks through the app as well!

Although students will find some informational books on Sora, this collection is based on student interests and is heavily weighted toward popular fiction titles.

Bonnycastle subscribes to two sets of ebook databases through Infobase: Literary Classics eBook Collection and Mid/High School eBook Subscription Collection. Both databases will be searched simultaneously through the icon to the left. In the Infobase database, click arrows on the blue box on the right to review some of the ebooks available through Infobase. Click "View Title" to view the specific book. Remember, you will need the username and password for Infobase. Click on the Infobase icon to search the full database.

EBSCO provides many Canadian titles and many French titles as well. Although you can read the ebooks online, you can download and read the books offline on many of your devices. If you want to download the ebooks, you will have to create an EBSCO account (or link to your Google account). Click here for the How to access ebooks through EBSCO databases.

Search the Library Catalogue

Destiny, the library catalogue, lists all the library resources. So, you can use Destiny to search all the ebooks in one search.  You may want to differentiate between an ebook and a physical copy of the book. For more information on searching for ebooks using the library catalogue click here.

Free ebooks and audiobooks available to students

Thank you to the many publishers and vendors that are allowing students to access their ebook and audiobook collections for the next few months. We have listed a few here that do not request personal information to use. If a username and password are required, they have been added to our password page

Capstone Interactive has ebooks for grades 6 and up.

Tumblebooks - ebooks for elementary - middle school. Username and password are required.
