Military Scholarships
AIR FORCE & SPACE FORCE ROTC: Air Force ROTC is one sure way to get the most out of your college experience. If you are awarded a scholarship, you become obligated when you accept and sign an agreement with the Department of the Air Force (DAF), either the U.S. Air Force (USAF) or the U.S. Space Force (USSF). Applicants who receive a scholarship will have the option to convert their scholarship benefits (capped or uncapped) to a room scholarship where on-campus housing or housing billed through the university will be paid up to $10,000 per academic year. Application deadline: December 12, 2025.
ARMY ROTC: Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC), pays for your tuition while you go to college and train to become an Army Officer. High school students who apply for ROTC are eligible for scholarships covering up to the full cost of tuition based on merit and grades, plus $420 per month for personal expenses and $1200 per year for books. Application deadline: March 4, 2026.
MARINE ROTC: The Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Marine Option allows those with a fighting spirit the opportunity to earn a commission in the United States Marine Corps as they complete their studies at a participating college or university. Selected applicants receive full tuition, books stipend, educational fees and other financial benefits OR Room & Board. Upon graduation, midshipmen are commissioned as officers in the Navy or Marine Corps. Application deadline: December 12, 2025.
NAVY ROTC: The Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) is a scholarship program that provides full tuition, books stipend, summer training cruises and more so you can enjoy a traditional college experience while preparing to serve as a Naval Officer. Application deadline: January 31, 2026.
COAST GUARD: High school students can apply for several US Coast Guard-affiliated scholarships, including the annual merit-based scholarships from the Coast Guard Foundation for dependents of active-duty and retired members, and the Coast Guard Exchange (CGX) Scholarship Program for dependents of personnel, reservists, and Auxiliarists. For students in their junior or senior year of high school, the Coast Guard also offers summer AIM program to experience the Academy, and the College Commissioning Initiative (CSPI) program for those interested in a full-tution in exchange for future services. Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards: The Youth Awards honors high school seniors of Hispanic heritage (including Spain, Brazil, and the philippines) with a one-time grant who excel in the classroom and community and for their excellence in various categories, including: Community Service, Engineering, Green Sustainability, and Technology. Colgate-Palmolive is proud to sponsor the Youth Awards through the "Haz La U" (Make the U) college grant program for high school seniors. Your effort could be rewarded by receiving one of 31 educational grants with Colgate providing $100,000 in total support. Application deadline: November 2, 2025.
Regeneron Science Talent Search: The Regeneron STS focuses on identifying, inspiring, and engaging the most promising scientists among the nation's high school seniors. All entrants must follow the official rules of entry, which outline eligibility requirements, ethics statements, and rules for scientific research. First place prize is $250,000 with 300 awards available. Application deadline: November 6, 2025
Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship: The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2026 competition ranging from $1,000 per year to $7,500 per year. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Application deadline: November 12, 2025.
The Cooke College Scholarship: The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. The award, which is last dollar funding after all institutional aid, can provide as much as $55,000 per year to pursue a bachelor's degree at any accredited undergraduate institution. Application deadline: November 12, 2025.
The Platta Law Firm Students with Disabilities Scholarship: The Platta Law Firm represents everyday people that develop disabilities as a result of unfortunate accidents. The award is a $5,000 scholarship to make someone's journey through school a little easier. Application deadline: November 14, 2025.
10 Words or Less Scholarship: The Scholarship Value is $1,000. To be eligible a student must 1) Be between the ages of 14-25 who will be attending school in the Fall of 2026 and 2) A student must answer the question on the website in 10 Words or less. Application deadline: November 15, 2025.
The James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists: The James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalist awards scholarships to photographers and videographers at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate school levels. A variety of scholarships are available; the maximum award value is $2,500. High school winners will receive digital cameras rather than a monetary Prize. Application deadline: November 15, 2025.
A.W. Bodine-Sunkist Scholarship: The A.W. Bodine-Sunkist Memorial Foundation awards scholarships to students with a personal or family involvement in agriculture. There are seven awards available with amounts averaging $2,000. Application deadline: November 15, 2025.
National Space Club Scholarship: The National Space Club offers a scholarship of $20,000 to a high school senior with plans to pursue a career in the Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) fields. This scholarship is awarded to a U.S. citizen, and plans to study at an accredited educational institution in the United States. Application deadline: November 17, 2025.
Sallie Mae Scholarship: Sallie Mae is offering the opportunity to earn a $2,000 no essay scholarship. A winner is selected each month to help pay for their college journey. You can enter to win the $2,000 scholarship each month. Remember to keep applying! Application deadline: November 30, 2025
Hagan Scholarship Foundation: The Hagan Scholarship Foundation is a need-based merit scholarship for goal-driven students. Award recipients will receive $2,000 to purchase essential items for college. Award recipients will be eligible to receive up to $7,500 each semester. Application deadline: December 1, 2025.
Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarship: Application opens on October 3, 2025! Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarship provides financial assistance for high school students at all academic levels who provide outstanding community service to organizations that are involved in the fight against hunger. Win up to $5,000! Application deadline: December 5, 2025.
Common App Scholarship: The Scholarship Guidance "Common App Scholarship" is designed to help students with the cost of their studies. The Scholarship are for students in grade 11 or 12, attend college or university no later than October 1, 2026, have achieved a GPA of 2.5 or greater and answer ONE of the essay prompts found in the application. The Scholarship value is $2,000 with (2) awards available. Application deadline: December 15, 2025.
The Coolidge Scholarship: The Coolidge Scholarship cover's a student's full tuition, room and board, required fees for four years of undergraduate study, and an annual stipend for books and supplies. Coolidge scholars must possess a distinguished academic record. Competitive candidates will have pursued and succeeded in the most rigorous course of study available to them. Application deadline: December 16, 2025.
Jazz at the Ballroom Scholarship: The competition is open to high school jazz instrumentalists in California. Applicants must complete an entry form, a personal statement, and include a recording (does not need to be a professional recording). Total award value of $1,000 per finalist. Application deadline: December 16, 2025.
Nurse.org Healthcare Leaders Scholarship: The nurse.org $1,500 Healthcare Leaders scholarship is offered to students entering, or currently pursuing, and educational program related to nursing or medicine. Application deadline: December 31, 2025.

January Deadlines
Edison Scholars Program: Edison International will award $50,000 college scholarships to 30 high school seniors to help them follow their dreams in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) at a four-year accredited college or university. Applicant must live in Southern California Edison's service territory. Application deadline: January 17, 2026.
Ventura County Medical Education Scholarship: The Ventura County Medical Education Scholarship is offered to students who are currently enrolled in a program to pursue a professional certificate, associate, bachelor's, graduate degree, or doctorate in a healthcare-related field. The award is up to $8,000 per recipient for 1 or multiple recipients. Application deadline: January 17, 2026
Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation Scholars Program: The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation Scholars Program provides scholarships of up to $10,000 for high school seniors in Ventura County, California who provide service to Ventura County as student leaders. Application deadline: January 31, 2026.
Princeton Prize in Race Relations (PPRR): The Princeton Prize in Race Relations (PPRR) recognizes and rewards high school students who, through their volunteer activities, have undertaken significant efforts to advance racial equity and understanding in their schools or communities. Each of the recipients receives an award of $1,000 and is invited to participate in a Symposium on Race. Application deadline: January 31, 2026.
Cherry Hawk Scholarship: The Cherry Hawk Scholarship is open to students from or attending school in Southern California. Students should aspire to become sports professionals, studying a sports-related field such as Sports Information, Sports Medicine, Sports Management, Sports Marketing, Sports Journalism or Communications. There is one $5,000 award available. Application deadline: January 31, 2026.
McDonald's HACER National Scholarship: The McDonald's HACER National Scholarship opens doors and transforms futures with $1 million in scholarships awarded to support up to 100 outstanding students across the country. Recipients are selected for their academic achievements, community impact, personal statement, and financial need. Application deadline: February 17, 2026.
(1) Volunteer Service Scholarship recognizing graduating seniors for volunteer service in their communities who are PTA members graduating from a CA HS between January and June 30 of the current academic year.
(2) $500 Dr. Ralph E. White Graduating Senior Scholarship provides $500 each to two successful applicants of the Volunteer Service Scholarship pursuing a career in the medical field. Deadline: 02/01/25 11:59 PM PST
Elks Legacy Awards for Children/Grandchildren of Lodge Members: The Elks Lodge offers $4,000 scholarships to children and grandchildren (who are high school seniors) of Elks members. Deadline: February 3, 2025, 11:59 a.m. Pacific Time. NOTE: This is NOON, mid-day, Pacific time
Hispanic Scholarship Fund: The HSF offers a range of $500-$5,000 scholarship based on need to high school students who have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university for the 2024-2025 academic year, and submit the FAFSA or state-based financial aid forms. Deadline: February 15th, 2025
Brawerman Leadership Institute Scholarship – The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles: The Brawerman Leadership Institute offers $40,000 scholarships to Jewish graduating seniors who will be attending an accredited 4-year university in Fall 2024, with at least a 3.5 GPA, deep commitment to leadership, and community service: Deadline: 02/17/25
Christermon Beverage Industry Scholarship: The Christermon organization offers scholarship money for graduating California high school students who are the children, grandchildren, or legal guardians of persons who hold full-time employment with, or are a proprietor of, a company holding a valid CA liquor, beer or wine license, including restaurants, hotels, retail & wholesale establishments, airlines, brweries, wineries, etc. Deadline: 02/15/25
Conejo Open Space Foundation Scholarship for Environmental Studies: The Conejo Open Space Foundation offers $1,000 each to students residing in and attending a high school in the Conejo Valley or larger Ventura County area, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and planning to attend an accredited college or university on a full-time basis, planning to enter a career related to sustainability, ecology, resource management, or preserving the natural environment. Deadline: 02/15/25
George S. & Stella M. Knight Essay Contest: This essay contest offers a cash award for high school students in any grade, who are U.S. Citizens and Legal Residents. Students must submit an original 800 to 1,200 word essay based on an event, person, philosophy, or ideal associated with the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the U.S. Constitution. Deadline: 02/15/25
American Association of University Women Thousand Oaks-Speech Trek: AAUW's speech contest is open to all high school students in California. Students will answer a question on the topic: "Select one area of impact and explore the effect climate change is having on women in the USA and around the world." If students qualify for finals they will be eligible for different cash prizes (minimum of $100 and maximum of $2500). Deadline: 02/22/25
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc 1983 Scholarship: The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc offers a scholarship to a high school senior of color currently enrolled in a Southern California public or private high school within the Southern California area who has a minimal C+ average (75%)2.5 GPA or better. American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars: The ACS offers a range between $1,000 to $5,000 to high school seniors [U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents (inquire via email for asylum and DACA status)] intending to major in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology, or another chemistry-related science with a 3.0 GPA or higher. American Welding Society (AWS) Foundation: The AWS offers a range from $2,500 to $7,000 to high school pursuing a bachelor's or associate degree in welding or a related discipline. Deadline: 03/01/25
California Mayflower Society Scholarship: California Mayflower Society Scholarship awards one $5,500 scholarship, one $3,500 scholarship, one $2,500 scholarship, and one $1,000 scholarship to high school seniors who are related to a Mayflower passenger. Deadline is no later than 11:59pm, Saturday, March 1, 2025.
USPAACC Scholarships: USPAACC offers between 10-20 scholarships every year to high school seniors nationwide who are employed / parents employed at an Asian-owned or Asian cuisine restaurant, of any ethnic heritage, planning to attend a two-year or four-year college, demonstrate financial need, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and involved in community advocacy or social justice work on behalf of Asian American, immigrant, gay and lesbian and/or other progressive causes. GOYA Foods Culinary Arts Scholarship: Goya awards four scholarships of $5,000 each (renewable and maximum award of $20,000 per award recipient) for high school seniors pursuing culinary arts/food sciences who plan to enroll in an undergraduate degree at a two-year or four-year U.S. accredited institution (Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale). California Credit Union Student Scholarship: California Credit Union offers 30 scholarships of $1,000 each to high school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0, school or community involvement, a letter of recommendation and an essay submission. Deadline: 03/07/25
Horatio Alger Association Scholarship: This scholarship offers a range of awards from $10,000 to $25,000 to high school juniors who have demonstrated critical financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income)
Unified Association of Conejo Teachers Scholarship Award: The UACT offers scholarship awards to high school seniors who are children or dependents of UACT members planning to attend a two-year, four-year, or trade college. National Latino Peace Officer's Association of Ventura County Scholarship: NLPOAVC offers $1,000 for high school seniors interested in law enforcement careers who are Latino or promote diversity in school, community, or the work-place. Deadline: 03/24/25

Cobell Native American and College Scholarships: The Cobell Scholarship Program offers a scholarship for Native American/ Indigenous students who are enrolled members of a U.S. Federally recognized tribe, enrolled in full-time study and seeking a degree from any accredited postsecondary institution. Robert E. Dempster Memorial Scholarship: Robert E. Dempster Memorial Scholarship offered to 2026 graduating high school seniors. The Rancho Conejo Colony of the California Mayflower Society awards this $1,500 annual, memorial scholarship in honor of its founding Governor, Robert E. Dempster. Mayflower descendancy is not required. The award is based on submission of a 500-word essay and the student's good academic standing. Application deadline: April 1, 2026.
Aquila Chase Chapter Scholarship: The Aquila Chase Chapter of the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship for a graduating high school student who will be attending college in 2026-2027. Italian Catholic Federation Scholarship: The Italian Catholic Federation (ICF) offers first year scholarships awarded in the amount of $500 to approximately 130 applicants. First year scholarship winners are eligible for second, third, and fourth year awards of $600, $700, and $1,000 respectively. Criteria:

CSEA Dependent Scholarships | California School Employees Association: CSEA offers $1,000 in scholarships to dependents and spouses of CSEA members who are graduating high school seniors. Classified employees include many of the secretaries, custodial staff, office staff working for school districts like CVUSD.
