News- Hello grownups! We had such a sweet and wonderful week in preschool! Here is what we've been up to!
Last week was so much fun! We celebrated National Rice Krispie Day by making our own Rice Krispies. Then Friday we celebrated National Talk Like A Pirate Day!
We practiced writing the letter E, and worked on the sound for E, both long and short sounds.
Our number of the week was 4. We continued practicing one-to-one correspondence with our numbers.
The color of the week was purple.
We are still working on sitting in assigned spots. We always start out wonderful, but then we end up moving all over the rug like a bunch of little kittens. Haha! We will continue to work on sitting in our squares or in our chairs for longer periods of time. Some of the books we read this week were, Harold and the Purple Crayon, A Little Spot of Anger, Chicka, Chicka 1,2,3 and several other books.
We have been working on just sitting on the potty too! Some of our friends are a little nervous about the bathroom and being in the bathroom, which is understandable! It can be super loud! We have a super fun car track tower that can only be played with if we sit on the potty! It's been a great motivator and Thursday and Friday we got everyone working on potty training to sit on the potty at least once! I am so proud!
For our seventh week of school we will work on the letter F, number 5, and color orange! This Friday is Johnny Appleseed Day! Every year we test taste different apples and vote for our favorite. Almost every year yellow apples have won! We always make a graph to show the favorite apple color. This year I'm going to try to make applesauce in the crockpot! We will start in the morning and eat it by the end of the day. I even got child safe utensils so everyone can practice cutting their own apples to add to the crockpot.
