News- We had such a wonderful and amazing first week at school! I know it can be hard on parents, especially with some of our tiny friends that have cried in the morning leaving their grownups, but I promise everyone is all smiles within a few minutes of being in the classroom. I have absolutely loved getting to know all of your boys this week and I'm excited for our relationship to grow this year. We had a short week and I am still so impressed with how much everyone has grown. Here are some of the things we did last week:
On Tuesday we practiced walking in a line using the line walking rope, but by the end of the week we were all walking in line without it!
We ate lunch in cafe with our kindergarten friends. I was worried sounds or smells would bother some of our boys, but everyone has done great!
We've practiced cutting and tracing.
We worked on nursery rhymes.
By the end of the week it was dry enough to play on the kindergarten playground and we had a lot of fun!
We read books together like, Little Blue Truck Goes To School and Another Monster At The End Of This Book.
We lovingly refer to our classroom as our "bundle of boys" and we couldn't be more in love with your sweet boys and we are so incredibly happy with the progress they've made in just one week. I'm so excited for the school year.
Things we will start working on in class:
Letter, color, number, and shape of the week. We will make it more challenging if your child needs it, like learning how to read the color or number word. We will be working on the same type of thing, but everything will be adjusted for your child's specific needs. If your child has in school therapy such as speech, OT, or PT that will begin this week. If you have therapy outside of school please let me know what days. If your child is on medicaid they won't let us (or your outside therapy) bill on the same day.
