This is my 9th year as an elementary teacher and my 9th year at ILES! I moved with my husband and children to Fort Mill, SC to be closer to my husband's family.
I graduated from the University of Virginia's College at Wise with a bachelor's degree in history in 2014. My original plan was to earn my doctorate in history to teach at a university, however my path was changed for the better! I earned my master's of arts in teaching special education in 2017.
I am originally from Michigan, but moved to Virginia when I was very young. I grew up with 4 brothers and 4 sisters. We never had a dull moment in our house! We lived in the mountains where I had a lot of outside time.
In my free time I love being outside, watching historical documentaries or films (particularly English history from the War of the Roses to Queen Elizabeth I), sewing, reading (I read at least 3 books a month typically), or spending time with my family and friends. I married my high school sweetheart and we've married for 22 years. We have a 15 year old son, Luke and a 13 year old daughter, Annabelle.
