News- Hello grownups! We had such a sweet and wonderful week in preschool! Here is what we've been up to!
We continued practicing cutting paper and holding both scissors and paper the correct way. Our bundle of boys are making great progress! Mrs. Hannah (our OT) continues to visit us and help us make sure we're doing everything correctly. All of the boys are getting more comfortable cutting and working on their fine motor skills!
This week we introduced the letter A. We talked about both both the short and long sounds it makes. At this age, it's completely okay if they don't know the sounds yet. Letter sounds are a big focus in kindergarten. Right now, we just want them to start becoming aware that letters make sounds.
Our number of the week was zero. We practiced understanding that "nothing" means zero.
We had a pep rally, and everyone did an amazing job! The entire school was in the gym making so much noise, we had confetti cannons, and our principal, Mr. Johnson jumped up from a ceiling box to surprise and even with all the noise and activity everyone did amazing!!!
We also celebrated my birthday with cupcakes. Thank you for the warm wishes and thoughtful gifts. I had a wonderful 29th (plus 12 hehe) birthday with your boys.
For next week we will be working on B and the sound B makes. We will work on the number 1, and color blue. Also, we are so grateful for our wonderful sub and my dear friend, Mrs. K. Her last day with us will be Tuesday. Starting Wednesday, we'll welcome Mrs. Divya, who had always planned to join us, but wasn't able to start when school began. Mrs. Divya subbed in our class on and off last year, and we absolutely loved working with her! Mrs. K promises to visit us whenever she subs at our school. She truly has fallen in love with all of your boys.
As always, thank you for sharing your most precious boys with us. We are truly enjoying every minute of every day with them.
