Activities:
Dribble with right hand
Dribble with left hand
Dribble by switching between right hand and left hand
Dribble a ball at high, medium and low levels (heights)
Set up cones or other obstacles to dribble around (slalom through)
Dribble to the beat of a song that you like
Make up your own dribble routine
Shoot a ball or object into a trash can or laundry basket
How to Dribble:
Contacts ball with one hand at about
waist
height
Pushes ball with
finger pads
(not a slap)
Ball contacts surface in front of or to the outside of the foot on the preferred side
Maintains control of ball for consecutive bounces
How to shoot a basketball:
Stand with feet shoulder width apart
Slightly bend knees
Prepare ball by shooting shoulder
Rest ball on inside of hand (fingers)
Extend shooting arm quickly
Flick wrist to apply added force to ball
***Shooting with two hands is okay!!!!
