Please test your child on their multiplication facts. Go to the website Math-Aids. Click on multiplication and choose the timed multiplication test which you can print. Time your child for 3 minutes. If they get every problem correct move them on to the next multiplication fact. Your child should know which fact they are currently on.

Monday

1. Write each spelling word three times each.
2. Today we are going to begin working on our preparation for our Dog or Cat opinion paper

• Read the directions for your writing "Prompt for Opinion Writing- What kind of Pet is Best, a Dog or a Cat".
• Read the article "Why Cats Make Better Pets than Dogs"

3. Practice your cursive below (e and w)

1. Practice Multiplication Math Facts - Write 3 times each. If you have passed multiplication practice division
2. Complete 4 pages of Math as shown below. Pages 771,772,773,774

1. Today you will begin your Japanese Cherry Blossom Art.
2. Follow the instructions below for Day#1

• Go to the Student Links tab and click on Wonderopolis

• Look up Wonder#2581"How were Rubber Bands Invented" and read the article.
• Write three things you learned about how Rubber Bands were invented.

Tuesday

1. Write a sentence with 10 spelling words (At least 8 words in each sentence and each one written clearly and neatly..
2. We are going to continue working on our preparation for our Dog or Cat opinion paper
3. Read the article "Why Cats Make Better Pets than Dogs" again.

• Write 4 reasons why cats are better pets than dogs according to the article.( Save your Notes as we will use them next week when we begin our writing)

4. Practice your cursive below (p and l)

1. Freeze dance: Play music then have someone turn the music on and off. When the music stops, freeze in your pose and hold it until the music begins again.

1. Practice Multiplication Math Facts - Write 3 times each. If you have passed multiplication practice division
2. . Complete 2 pages of math as shown below. Pages 775, 776

3. Today you will continue working on your Japanese Cherry Blossom Art.

1. Write your spelling words in alphabetical order.
2. We are going to continue working on our preparation for our Dog or Cat opinion paper
3. Read the article " Why Dogs Make Good Pets".

• Write 4 reasons why dogs are better pets than cats according to the article.( Save your Notes as we will use them next week when we begin our writing)

4. Practice your cursive below (h and k)

1. Practice Multiplication Math Facts - Write 3 times each. If you have passed multiplication practice division

2. Complete Test "Check My Progress" Pages 777 and 778 only

IMPORTANT: Have your parents take a picture of your test and email the test to your teacher on Friday.

5. Today you will finish your Japanese Cherry Blossom Art.
6. Follow the instructions below for Day#3

• Look up Wonder#2580 "What is a Fisher Cat?" and read the article.
• Write three things you learned about Fisher Cats.

1. End your day with a Squiggle drawing and writing. Ask your parent to draw a squiggle for you to start. Use your parents squiggle to create a picture and write three sentences

Thursday

1. Write each spelling word one time then underline each vowel and circle each consonant . Vowels (a,e,i,o,u) Consonant all other letters.
2. We are going to continue working on our preparation for our Dog or Cat opinion paper
3. Look up an article online about cats.

• Write 4 interesting details about cats from the article.( Save your Notes as we will use them next week when we begin our writing)

4. Practice your cursive below (b and r)

1. Go to GoNoodle when you click on Student Links in the 3rd Grade Website. Pick 3 fun activities to do by yourself or with a family member

1. Practice Multiplication Math Facts - Write 3 times each. If you have passed multiplication practice division
2. Complete 4 pages of Math as shown below Pages 779, 780, 781, 782

1. Begin working on your Wise owl drawing today.
2. Complete steps one through eight. Tomorrow you will complete the background and color in your owl.

• Look up Wonder#225"What is a Chinchilla?" and read the article.
• Write three things you learned about Chinchillas. By the way Mrs. Kovnat's daughter had a Chinchilla for 15 years named Pixie and she was so cute!

1. Write a journal entry of at least 3 sentences. Imagine that all the streets are rivers? How do you get around?

Friday

1. Have a family member or guardian give you a spelling test of the words you have studied this week-(No Peeking)
2. We are going to continue working on our preparation for our Dog or Cat opinion paper
3. Look up an article online about dogs.

• Write 4 interesting details about dogs from the article.( Save your Notes as we will use them next week when we begin our writing)

4. Practice your cursive below (j and f)

More instructions will come next week as we continue preparing for and writing our Opinion paper about Dogs or Cats.

IMPORTANT: Have your parents take a picture of your test and email it to your teacher. They need to be turned in by 12:00 noon on Friday. There will be 2 or 3 tests every week. Please send pictures of your favorite art project of the week! You may be in the picture if you wish, but only if your parents give permission to send it to your teacher. It will be posted in next weeks link to share with the class and may turn up on the El Dorado website in a video presentation!

• Pick any "Wonder ", that you are interested in.
• Write three things you learned about the wonder you chose.

1. Write a journal entry of at least 3 sentences. What would happen if animals could talk? What questions would you like to ask them?
