Please test your child on their multiplication facts. Go to the website Math-Aids. Click on multiplication and choose the timed multiplication test which you can print. Time your child for 3 minutes. If they get every problem correct move them on to the next multiplication fact. Your child should know which fact they are currently on.

Language Arts
  1. Write each spelling word three times each.
  2. Today we are going to begin working on our preparation for our Dog or Cat opinion paper
  • Read the directions for your writing "Prompt for Opinion Writing- What kind of Pet is Best, a Dog or a Cat".
  • Read the article "Why Cats Make Better Pets than Dogs"
  1. Practice your cursive below (e and w)


ExercisePractice aerobics indoors. Do 20 Jumping Jacks, jog in place for 3 minutes and have a Dance party: Turn on the music and dance!
Math
  1. Practice Multiplication Math Facts - Write 3 times each. If you have passed multiplication practice division
  2. Complete 4 pages of Math as shown below. Pages 771,772,773,774

Art
  1. Today you will begin your Japanese Cherry Blossom Art.
  2. Follow the instructions below for Day#1

Social Studies
  • Go to the Student Links tab and click on Wonderopolis
  • Look up Wonder#2581"How were Rubber Bands Invented" and read the article.
  • Write three things you learned about how Rubber Bands were invented.

  • Write 4 reasons why cats are better pets than dogs according to the article.( Save your Notes as we will use them next week when we begin our writing)

  1. Freeze dance: Play music then have someone turn the music on and off. When the music stops, freeze in your pose and hold it until the music begins again.

  1. End your day with a Squiggle drawing and writing. Ask your parent to draw a squiggle for you to start. Use your parents squiggle to create a picture and write three sentences
about your picture. Each sentence must be at least 8 words in length.

  • Look up Wonder#225"What is a Chinchilla?" and read the article.
  • Write three things you learned about Chinchillas. By the way Mrs. Kovnat's daughter had a Chinchilla for 15 years named Pixie and she was so cute!

  1. Write a journal entry of at least 3 sentences. Imagine that all the streets are rivers? How do you get around?

IMPORTANT: Have your parents take a picture of your test and email it to your teacher. They need to be turned in by 12:00 noon on Friday. There will be 2 or 3 tests every week. Please send pictures of your favorite art project of the week! You may be in the picture if you wish, but only if your parents give permission to send it to your teacher. It will be posted in next weeks link to share with the class and may turn up on the El Dorado website in a video presentation!

  • Write three things you learned about the wonder you chose.
