  2. Abstract nouns are different from other nouns in that they describe things that we cannot see, hear, taste, smell, or touch.
Love and excitement are examples of abstract nouns.Look up five abstract nouns online and write a complete sentence with each one (Sentences should be least 8 words each). Write neatly and check your spelling.

Social StudiesBegin Work on Native Americans of California Social Studies project. (Please save all of your notes and sentences for our project) (Search online to gather information. as this is an online research report)
  • Today you will decide which Native American Tribe you will be studying.
  • You may choose the Miwok, Winto, Yokuts, Chumash, Maidu or the Mojave.
  • Write three sentences about the food they eat. What the food is, where they get it and why do they eat this kind of food.

JournalEnd your day with a Squiggle drawing and writing. Ask your parent to draw a squiggle for you to start. Use your parents squiggle to create a picture and write three sentencesabout your picture. Each sentence must be at least 8 words in length.

  1. Write a sentence with 10 spelling words (At least 8 words in each sentence and each one written clearly and neatly..
  2. A suffix is a syllable or word which is added to the end of another word to change the meaning of the basic word
Look up 5 suffixes online and add them to a base word to create a new word. Use each word in a sentence.

  2. Compare and Contrast Ben Franklin's Two Cents and Aesops story of the Ants and the Grasshopper
  • Write two ways they are the same and two ways they are different.

IMPORTANT: Have your parents take a picture of your completed tests and email them to your teacher. They need to be turned in by 12:00 noon on Friday. There will be 2 or 3 tests every week. Please send pictures of your favorite art project of the week and it will be posted in next weeks link to share with the class.
