Your child’s wellbeing is paramount here at DPA, and supporting their mental health is our priority as they continue to learn in our school environment. Settling back into the school environment has been our focus this term, continuing to use a variety of strategies we have employed as a team.
As well as the use of breathing strategies, worry boxes and mindful moments, the children have been reminded about the ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’ and how important they are to make us feel better every day. They have had the opportunity to create ‘go to’ cards where they can add all the different things they can do in order to improve and sustain their mental health.
We also spent a whole day focusing on the importance of wellbeing on 8th October on World Mental Health day. Each class created a compliment wall, where they wrote something kind about another class member. You may have noticed balloons hanging around at both sites on which children have written about how we help with their mental health and wellbeing at DPA.
