We have learned so much in French this term at the Juniors! The children have shown such enthusiasm for the language and have proven to be amazing communicators and risk takers!
Year 3 classes have learned vocabulary related to animals, numbers and colours.
Year 4 classes have learned the names of ice cream flavours and have taken part in role plays buying ice creams. So if you are planning a trip to France this summer and your child is in Year 4, you’re in luck!
Year 5 classes have been talking about pets and have practised their extended writing skills, using their knowledge of English, punctuation, relative clauses and conjunctions to improve their work in a foreign language.
Year 6 classes have learned to talk about all things related to school, subjects, likes, dislikes, timetable and have practised their writing and speaking skills extensively.
Additionally, our three Year 5 classes have received letters from our French partner school and have each written introductory letters to their penpals.
We have also sent our friends Christmas cards and have shared how Christmas is celebrated in the UK. We have learned about Christmas traditions in France and in other French speaking countries.
The partner school project is still in its infancy but we are very excited to see where this international collaboration will take us in the months and years to come!
