Faculty Leaders: Lourdes Gonzalez & Jessica Dzieweczynski
Dates: Monday, March 13 - Friday, March 17
Cost: $405
Special Considerations:

Objective
To create art using glass.
Description
Students will spend the week participating in three intensive workshops that will culminate in a total of four projects. The workshops will cover how to create mosaics using both sheet glass and smalti, how to make stained glass, as well as making an original piece of jewelry with mosaics. A walking tour of mosaics in the city may also be included during the week depending on our progress in the studio.
Student Requirements and Expectations
Students will need to complete four projects and understand that we will be spending numerous hours in a studio working with glass to create art. We will meet at school each morning and depart via CTA to The Chicago Mosaic School. When we are done at The Chicago Mosaic School, we will return to school as a group via CTA.
About the Faculty
Ms. González was first exposed to mosaics when she took an introductory class to mosaics years ago at The Chicago Mosaic School. Since then, she has been fascinated by the design and execution of all kinds of projects made with glass. Ms. Dzieweczynski teaches Mandarin and has led local, out-of-state and international Project Week projects. She is looking forward to further exploring this art form and seeing students’ creations!
