The beginning of Mercy Corp is tied very closely into one of the most unique planets discovered in the galaxy; Anille. The lush planet of Anille, orbiting the binary stars Alpha Centauri A and B, demonstrates unusual environmental qualities that make it ideal for photosynthetic life. That is to say plants flourish there. The year-round tropical weather makes Anille a veritable paradise, however there is a catch. The natural environment acts like a massive hive mind and attacks anything it sees as a threat.

Mercy Corp's famous medical research facility, Spirit of Commerce, is located on Anille. The best doctors across the galaxy are trained there. Anille is also home to native species that provide many life saving medical compounds. These compounds are Mercy Corp's primary exports.  

Mercy Corp sees capitalism and commerce as a sort of religion. In fact they invented and popularized Investmas in the 24th Century.

In their eyes, medical professionals who don't charge for their services are committing the highest of blasphemies.

History

2150 - Colony ship launched towards Earth-like planet, Anille, discovered in the Alpha Centauri system. Expected arrival 2168.

2168 - First Colonization attempt on Anille

2210 - Successful colonization of Anille

2215 - Plant based substance discovered that can be utilized internally by nanobots to fortify the body against most blunt force trauma.

2216 - Mercy Corp formed to extract, purify and distribute this molecule.
