End of Term Newsletter

26th May 2023

Principal's Message:

Term 5 has been an extraordinarily busy term. We are extremely proud of all of the children's achievements in both their classwork and their assessments. We have had Year 2 pupils graduating from their "Secret Agent Training" this week, Reception pupils visiting Leeds Castle and Year 1 pupil participating in an "Arty-Farty" workshop... and that's just this week!

We are so pleased to be able to continue to offer the children these exciting experiences. Many of them have been subsidised by the academy as we greatly value the positive impact they have on our children's learning.

I am sure that you will be able to read more about what the children have been getting up to on the individual class pages within the newsletter.

I hope that you all have a lovely half term and we look forward to seeing you on Monday 5th June.

Miss Brading

Contacting the class teachers:

If you have concerns that you would like to raise with the academy, please do so via the office email address which is contactus@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk. Upon receipt, your email will be directed to the relevant member(s) of staff.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to Mrs McRobb, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.

We are also aware that some parents continue to email staff directly. In the event that this happens, staff have been asked to forward your email to the aforementioned email address to resume communication via the correct channels.

National Online Safety

The concept of influencers is hardly a new one. Through newspaper columns and TV spots, we have all long been accustomed to hearing informed opinions from, for example, Martin Lewis on money, Nigella Lawson on food and Mark Kermode on cinema. How digital revolution has changed the game, however, is by providing a plethora of platforms from which literally anyone can have their say.

Online you will find hordes of people holding forth on any number of topics: gaming, beauty, travel, fashion, fitness... virtually anything you can think of. What qualifies them as 'experts', however? Is it safe for young people to consume the vast amount of content that these people generate?

The useful guide below brings you the essential information on the influencer phenomenon.
