Principal's Message:

What an incredible year it has been. I would like to personally thank the whole community for being so welcoming to me in my first year here and demonstrating such support for the school. The children have worked incredibly hard in everything they have applied themselves to; they certainly are the number one reason we all come to work and invest so much time and effort into the academy. We would also like to say a huge thank you to all parents and carers for all that you have done to support your child at school. It means a lot to be working in partnership with such wonderful people to ensure that our children have the best experience of school possible.

We are saying a fond farewell to our Year 6 pupils who have achieved incredible result in their SATs. We are very pleased with all of the outcomes, with particularly strong reading results. The children should all be extremely proud of themselves and raise their heads high as they move on to their next chapter.

We also say goodbye to some of our staff who are moving onto new schools, new endeavours and new adventures. We wish them all the luck in the world for the future.

Next year brings lots more excitement and even more wonderful opportunities for our children and the community to which they belong. One small change that we are implementing is the removal of pegs and the installation of lockers to help make our corridors and classrooms look much tidier, smarter and most importantly, safer. It's a big investment and we are pleased to be in a position to be able to do this. One small thing to note; when buying school bags, please do consider their size so that they can fit comfortably inside the lockers. There isn't an awful lot that children need to bring from home and so the size of their school bag should reflect that.

One final message from me;

"There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots, the other is wings."

Here's to a future at Langley Park in which all of our children will fly!

Have a very restful and safe summer break and we will see you all back in school on Friday 2nd September.
