End of Term Newsletter

20th December 2022

Principal's Message

What a term it has been! It has been jam packed with lots of excellent experiences, incredible learning and wonderful events. Each year group has taken the time to write up the learning journeys for this term so please do take a look at each page to find out what our children have been up to.

Last Friday, we had an incredibly successful Christmas Fair with real reindeers in attendance. A huge thanks to the PTA who worked tirelessly to put it together. Our PTA team now consists mainly of staff members, who are also parents - they have organised this event on top of their already very busy schedules and so thank you on behalf of our community. As we all know, the most effective PTA is when staff and parents work collaboratively to put together fundraising events and activities. To create a new committee, we will be holding the PTA AGM in the new term on the 19th January 2023 at 2.30pm. Please do come along. We really hope that we can begin to establish a dedicated PTA team that will continue to go from strength to strength. Events such as fairs are so valuable to the community and, most importantly, to the children. These are not possible, however, without a PTA and so we are really keen to spread the load and have a healthy mix of staff and parents to move the PTA forward. Thank you to everyone who came out in support of the Christmas Fair.

Today ended on a huge high with the start of a new Langley Park tradition. Staff wanted to give something to the children that they will remember; The Langley Park Staff Panto. From Evil Queens to ugly sisters, mirrors to woodland animals, there was a plethora of characters. It was a huge amount of fun and a wonderful way to end the term. A huge thanks to Mr Monaco for putting it together!

As you know, we are saying a fond farewell to Miss Lloyd, Mr Syred and Miss Schwieso and wish them all the best in their future endeavours. We are also saying a huge good luck to Mr Fenton who will hopefully have a new addition to his family imminently. He will be taking his paternity leave in the new term. We can't wait to meet a newest Langley Park Legend!

That leaves me with nothing left to say other than wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a happy and healthy new year. Christmas is about spending time with our loved ones but also remembering those whose Christmas may not be the one like those painted on television or in the media. We don't know what hidden challenges members of our community are going through so please act with kindness and compassion at this time of year particularly.

Merry Christmas.

Miss S Brading

At a time when families are able to spend some quality time together and enjoy each other's company, Christmas is the perfect opportunity to step away from our phones, laptops and consoles and concentrate on the things that really matter.
