School Council

The School Council meet with Mrs Neame at least once every term. Below are our School Council representatives for each year group within the academy:

• Year R: Megan, Reegan, Freya and Grayson.

• Year 1: Elijah, Georgia, Orla and Jeandre.

• Year 2: Reuben, Phoebe and Woody.

• Year 3: Aranan, Elliott, Dougie and Ariya.

• Year 4: Aubrey, Gracie, Wesley and Kiki.

• Year 5: Imani, Lorenzo, Amelie and Kya.

• Year 6: Charlie, Leona, Freddie and Noah.

For the last two terms, we have been reflecting in our classes about the below questions. We have also included some responses collected from across the academy.

How do we know that we are safe in school? How does school teach us to be safe?

1. Rules.

2. Teachers protect us.

3. Assemblies.

4. Ready, respectful, safe.

5. Safe adults where lanyards.

6. Teachers teach us how to be safe: fire, first aid, lockdown, sun andwater.

7. Risk Benefit for OPAL.

How does the PYP Curriculum allow us to learn better?

1. Build up skills.

2. Allows us to make links and connections.

3. It is good for us.

4. Helps us prepare for the future.

5. It has our main central idea so we know what we are learning about.

6. Know what to do in situations.

How do we promote a love of reading at our academy?

1. Reading corners in classrooms..

2. Reading incentives: Red Ted, Read to Succeed, badges.

3. Library and outdoor library.

4. We get an allocated library time and time for free reading.

Can you think of any extra zones we could have for OPAL or any way that we can get more resources for us to use?

1. Bake sale for monkey bars.

2. Rock climbing.

3. More swings.

4. Slide.

5. Mini golf.

6. Stage so we can dance and perform.

7. Non-school uniform days.
