COURSE OBJECTIVES:
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
- Gain a general knowledge of a wide variety of mathematical topics that can be applied in life
- Analyze statistics to make informed, educated decisions
- Gain an understanding of how loans and retirement plans financially work and how they are similar to the algebra skill of sequences and series
- Discuss the equitable and fair process of creating boundary lines for school districts through Voronoi Diagrams, as well as discussing how this process is upended by a political move called Jerrymandering
- Give an introduction to calculus derivatives and integration, and look at ways to optimize (maximize/minimize) situations
