The ninth grade year is a year of great transition for all high school students. They are transitioning from middle school to the larger high school with many more opportunities. It is important to get the first year of their high school experience started in a positive direction. The McCaskey High School Campus offers supports for all students, but specifically targets 9th grade with individualized and targeted supports to assist students in reaching their potential and maximizing the opportunities the high school has to offer. Each incoming 9th grade student chooses core courses that are required for graduation, but they have more latitude in what elective courses they choose. Some elective courses will be chosen because of personal interest. High School Seminar is strongly recommended for all 9th grade students because the course will help the 9th grade students develop academic, social, and future ready based skills that will help them be successful throughout their high school career.
