Aʻohe hana nui ke alu ʻia
No task is too big when done together by all
November is a special month for Nā Hale a Pauahi as we celebrate Lā Kūʻokoʻa — Hawaiʻi’s Independence Day. On November 28, 1843, the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi was officially recognized as an independent nation by Great Britain and France through the Anglo-Franco Proclamation.
We invite ʻohana to join us for a simple, three-step learning experience:
Step 1: EXPLORE (ʻImina)
Learn the moʻolelo behind Lā Kūʻokoʻa.
Click the link and explore at your own pace. ʻImina will summarize events, people, and places that shaped our independence.
Step 2: GUESS THE SECRET IMAGE
Test your sight and your instincts!
Peek through the digital curtain and see if you can guess the Lā Kūʻokoʻa person, place, or thing — E nānā i ka “boo!”
Step 3: TRIVIA CHALLENGE
Ready for the final quiz?
Test your knowledge in our 5 question Lā Kūʻokoʻa trivia game… see what you remember!
✅ When your ʻohana finishes all three steps, complete the short form.
📫 Every participating ʻohana will receive a small mahalo gift from Nā Hale a Pauahi!
Join us for a fun and festive virtual activity as we create felt quilt pattern holiday ornaments for your ʻohana to enjoy this Christmas season and for years to come. Sign up by using the QR code on the flyer or the button below, and we will mail all the supplies directly to you.
Once registered, you will receive the virtual link for our session on Monday, 12/8/25 at 5:00pm. We look forward to spending this creative time together!
