THIS MONTH IN NAEʻOLE HALE:
Naeʻole Hale celebrated ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi with a special dinner in the dorm with Boarder Alumni Guest Tai Samasama Kaiminaʻauao-Eteuati, KSKʻ20, and current High School performing arts staff. Sama shared his story and the importance of ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi. We are grateful to have met an alumni who was also a Naeʻole Hale resident and understands the intricacies of dorm life.

Produced for Ōiwi TV by Kamehameha Publishing and presented in both ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi and English, Lau Nehenehe brings to life some of Hawaiʻi's popular children's titles through animation, imagination, sound and story.
Nae‘ole, a chief of Hālawa, Kohala was the iwikuamo‘o or most trusted and close attendant of Kamehameha’s mother, Keku‘iapoiwa. He was given the responsibility of safeguarding Kamehameha from the first moments of his life through to his young childhood. Pursued by an army of the ruling chief, Nae‘ole traveled over miles of difficult terrain during a torrential storm to bring Kamehameha to the safety of ‘Āwini, Kohala.
