GCSE PE has been designed to build on and embed the physical literacy skills learned in the previous schooling years, encouraging learners to become more competent, confident and expert in their techniques and performances, applying them across different sports and physical activities.
GCSE PE isn't just about playing sport:
it is a subject that develops the understanding of the human body, something that might be useful for those seeking a medical profession.
it is a subject that explores physical training and, health, fitness and wellbeing, a fundamental part of living that has shown to become a more and more important tool in today's society. Therefore this aspect might be useful for those seeking a profession in the fitness, health or teacher world, as well as a person who wants to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.
it is a subject that analyses data: something that might be useful for those studying a science, economics, business or maths qualification.
it is a subject that looks at the psychology that surrounds why people participate in sport and activity, something that might be useful for those seeking a career in social sciences.
