Meet Stefanie.

Bio

Growing up in Vancouver Canada, I caught the travel bug and knew I wanted to work abroad. I love learning about new cultures, landscapes, and food. Recently, my favourite way of exploring the world is under water. Scuba diving allows you to see different ecosystems, find some really interesting animals (Big and small), and see how our worlds are connected. I love to find adventures on land as well. Particularly, geocaching and getting lost around Korea. Can’t wait to see what I’ll find this year.

Experience in Education

This is my second year as the Elementary Technology Coach here at KIS. Previously, I was the Innovation and Technology Coordinator at GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi. I was also a grade 4 homeroom teacher in Canada and the UAE. I have a Masters of Educational Technology from The University of British Columbia, a B.Ed. from Simon Fraser University as well as a Bachelor of Physical Education & Coaching from Douglas College. While teaching in the homeroom, I had developed a passion for educational technology and loved the impact it had on student learning. By enhancing student engagements, technology can help differentiate learning for each student.
