Meet Janani.

Bio

I prefer to be called “Janani”. I am from South India. I love to talk about culture, cooking, parenting, dance, and technology. I was born and raised in a small city called “Madurai” famously known as Temple City. I am a person of curiosity, trying to understand things around with questions about what and why. I am a good storyteller, I could paraphrase conversations/experiences in an interesting story mode. So connecting, sharing, learning, and servicing keep me feel alive. I aim at meeting your requirements by simplifying technology. I am excited to learn, unlearn and relearn with the KIS community.

Experience in Education

I graduated as a computer science engineer and worked in an IT company for 3 years. With a passion for teaching, I expanded my boundaries and switched my work environment to schools. I started my career at an International school in Beijing, China as a Technology Support Specialist. Where I gained knowledge on PowerSchool. Working with teachers and students evolved my interest in further enhancing my skills to become a Technology Integrator at American International School Chennai. Where I was able to support the secondary to integrate the tech tools in the classroom. My recent accomplishment was the implementation of a Hybrid learning environment. Supporting the community by experimenting and developing strategies for the hybrid to work seamlessly. Currently, I have resourceful knowledge of Virtual reality. There was a challenge to develop an interest in technology integration after the pandemic, VR projects gave students an interesting perspective to learn in a 360-degree environment. The past 7 years of connecting with teachers, co-teaching, unit planning, leading clubs, working on projects, and supporting student learning make me feel satisfied and thrive to explore more as an Ed Tech systems administrator and Coach at KIS.
