EdTech Philosophy: What we believe

KIS EdTech VISION:

Ubiquitous, authentic, and meaningful use of technology throughout the school by all learners

We believe that students should be empowered to be knowledge constructors who find innovative ways to solve problems, design solutions, and communicate their ideas in creative ways as responsible digital citizens of the ever-connected world.

We believe that technology allows for the following:

  • Consumption of information

  • Creation of content

  • Multiple pathways to demonstrate success

  • Personalized learning opportunities

  • Open channels for collaboration

  • Ignition of curiosity, creativity, and excitement

  • Communication of learning in a variety of ways

  • Authentic learning experiences

  • Equitable opportunities through assistive technologies

As such, KIS teachers use technology to enhance learning. To facilitate this, KIS provides teachers access to devices and other technologies. All coaches offer intentional professional learning opportunities to help teachers design challenging, authentic, and personalized learning experiences for their students by building their capacity and modeling this learning alongside the students.
