24 July, 2022 Launching Pad Ministry ... here
We always like talking about "launching a new ministry", don't we? There are a lot of similarities to the launching of the NASA program and getting the first man on the moon. There are stages; there is a payload; and there are benefits for humanity.
10 July, 2022 Sheep and Goats ... here
Sheep and Goats is NOT about us versus them - as we often think. It is far more about getting the Sheep out of the Goats and the Goats out of the Sheep. It speaks to everyone.
03 July, 2022 Kids and Camels ... here
Two stories that we treat as separate are strongly tied together - Jesus blessing the children and the rich young man. Kids get to participate in the Kingdom of God where "rich people" do not. But, what does "being rich" really mean?
26 June, 2022 Kingdom Feast ... here
Jesus feeds 5000 people with two fish and five loaves of bread. We think it's about the food, but it's not. There is far more to the message that Jesus is having the people live than filling bellies.
19 June, 2022 Living Life Again ... here
Twelve years... a women that was hemorrhaging that long meaning she had no life to speak of; a young child to become a women is dying. After meeting Jesus, both the women and the child have back their lives. A beautiful story.
12 June, 2022 Restoration ... here
Jesus heals a man who was possessed by a legion of demons. But there is more to this story of healing than simply "be gone with you." Rather, it is also about how one continues to live after such an event. That is restoration.
05 June, 2022 Faith during Fear ... here
Too often we hear, "Don't Fear; have Faith." However, that doesn't seem to work for us because fear is a natural human state or condition. What we really should be saying is, "Let faith get you through your fears."
22 May, 2022 Live and Learn ... here
Live and Learn is what we hear often. We learn what we live then you live what you learned. Behind every person there is a story; behind every story there is a past. Our past is made up of memories both good and bad. We should not let our bad memories define our present nor colour our future.
15 May, 2022 Winds of Change ... here
The landscape all around us is changing both figuratively and in reality. The church in the Western context is not immune to the challenges. Hurricane level winds of change may not be the end of it all rather, it just might be the beginning of a whole new movement.
24 Apr, 2022 Be Courageous ... here
Change is hard; change is scary. But change is what we live with day to day. If we can get beyond the uncertainty of the future and focus on the fact that we are not alone, maybe the change in our environment isn't so scary after all. Be courageous.
17 Apr, 2022 Easter - No-one believed ... here
The Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth is a challenge to comprehend. The fact that if you don't believe it, you are in good company. His disciples didn't believe it at first either. But because of the Resurrection, we have all these stories recorded in the Early Christian Writings (New Testament) from these non-believers turned believers.
15 Apr, 2022 A Good Friday Message in a song ... here
The reality is this; Jesus' crucifixion wasn't unusual. Many people who were enemies of Roman Power were crucified. But Jesus' mission wasn't against the Romans at all; it was a lie that got him sent to the cross. In fact, if it wasn't for what happened the following Sunday, this story would never be told. This video (not done by KCC) is a good reflection that should be played often.
Cassandra Star (10) & her big sister Callahan (19) sing this beautiful & meaningful Easter version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. These Easter lyrics were written by Kelley Mooney, the piano track was arranged by Jeff Buckley of Karaoke Studios & the recording by Maverick Judson of MJ Interactive.
03 Apr, 2022 In or Of this World ... here
What does it mean to be in the world but not of the world? Jesus says we need to watch out that we don't follow the wrong influences in the world around us that lead us away from God's Will.
27 Mar, 2022 Jesus is for Everyone ... here
Why do we spend so much time inside our churches (buildings) talking about all of Jesus' wonderful ministry that occurred Outside the Temple and Synagogues? From Inside the Temple with the Israelite people to the unthinkable places and people Outside the Temple; Jesus reached them all.
20 Mar, 2022 Touches of Heaven ... here
You may have wondered why it seems that when some people ask (in Jesus name) for cures to their situation, it seems to go unanswered. After all, Jesus was doing all sorts of this during his days. First, healing is not the same thing as curing. Second, (from last week's message) Jesus' main purpose for coming was to introduce the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth. All those healings were to point people to who Jesus was/is.
13 Mar, 2022 The Second Sunday in Lent ... here
So, Why did Jesus keep on telling people to too tell others who he was? It seems strange, doesn't it? Maybe there was something about what Jesus was doing that he did not want people to get confused about... and they did anyways.
06 Mar, 2022 The First Sunday in Lent ... here
Lent is a time of reflection of what it means for Jesus to "Walk to the Cross" for the sake of humanity (he came to reconcile the world to Himself). First things first; how does this fit into "Immanu-El" (with us - God) throughout human history? Understanding God's Mission since the beginning of time will certainly help.
27 Feb, 2022 Ukraine; What's next ... here
For the people of the Ukraine, the Russian invasion means an assault on everything it means to be Ukrainian. I can imagine it being similar to how the Jewish people felt when they experienced the destruction of their temple. We look at Matthew chapters 24 and 25 for some hope.
20 Feb, 2022 Hypocrisy: the Art of Wearing Masks... here
Hypocrisy... there is enough to go around for everyone. It's not just found in churches alone, it's simply a matter of the human condition.
13 Feb, 2022 The 'What if' of Creation (part 1)... here
What if there is more to the Creation Story than a literal six days? What if, the Creation Story was trying to address something complete different? There is a tremendous amount of beauty and poetry about this Story that everyone could be interested in learning - not just Christians.
13 Feb, 2022 The 'What if...' of Creation (part 2)... here
What if there is more to the Creation Story than just a literal 6 days? Part 2 looks at this story from a different perspective yet again - from the Rabbi Manis Friedman. The Scriptures are full of meaning that anyone can enjoy; not only Christians.
06 Feb, 2022 The Wisdom of the Bible... here
You don't need to be a Christian to follow Jesus. The Bible is Wisdom meant to share with everyone. So, how can we look at the Bible as non-Christians would? Maybe we need to go back a few thousand years to see how earlier God-Faithful people did.
30 Jan, 2022 Your Spiritual Journey ... here
Sometimes your Spiritual Journey becomes a real challenge and this may very well be a good thing. Sometimes it helps us reset our expectations. Instead of looking for someone to blame for the challenges, seek God to get you through it that it becomes a learning experience.
23 Jan, 2022 Good Angels; Bad Angels ... here
To choose or not to choose, that is the question. There are good angels and then there are bad angels (we have a different name for them). Good angels steer you towards God; bad angles steer you away from God. Given that, we have two choices in our Spiritual Journey of Life - choose to follow God or choose not to follow God. But it is our choice.
16 Jan, 2022 Angels by Our Side ... here
Angels have been around since the beginning of creation. But are they really these heavenly winged creatures in white robes (or babies with wings) as any Google search would show us? There is something much different about them; we may actually be meeting these angels and never know.
Also Check out this video by Rick Astley - Angels On My Side... https://youtu.be/cc91EfoBh8A
09 Jan, 2022 The Nature of Spirituality ... here
Spirituality in the 21st century is much different than it was 2000 to 4000 years ago. Back then, nature itself was integral to people's Spiritual understanding. The "Hosts of Heaven" were God's Finger Prints to their reality as they knew it. Maybe we can learn something from them.
02 Jan, 2022 A New Year; A New World... here
This pandemic has accelerated the challenges that many congregations are facing. Everything has changed and the church as we knew it is not coming back - so say the experts. But God is still at work. It's just different. A New Year upon us; a New World we live in; New Approaches; New Expressions of Faith. Emmanuel - God is with us.
26 Dec, 2021 Baptism; what's it all about ... here
Baptism is a very confusing topic in the Christian Church. Everyone seems to have a different slant on it (500 years ago we killed each other over this). So what is this Baptism thing and why is it so important in Christian Churches?
19 Dec, 2021 The Love of God... here
I might love my coffee, but that's not the same as the Love that Jesus talks about. In fact, for most of us, love is something that we can loose - fleeting at times. I'm sure glad that God Loves us much more than we Love each other.
12 Dec, 2021 The Joy of Christ Jesus... here
There doesn't seem to be a lot of reasons to be Joyful these days. Yet the writings of the early Christian Church indicate that we should be constantly Joyful. I think that the concept of Christian Joy is significantly different than our worldly view of Joy.
I would like to thank Maky Tochez for helping me with the recording of this message.
05 Dec, 2021 The Peace of Advent... here
There is an old saying: "No God - No Peace. Know God - Know Peace." Often we think of Peace in terms of lack of confrontation but, that approach will let us down because it is based on things that are out of your control. There has to be a better way of achieving the Peace we are all looking for. Hint: we celebrate Him at Christmas.
28 Nov, 2021 The HOPE of Advent... here
The Season of Advent is upon us and now we are waiting for Christmas to arrive. Christians use this time to celebrate Emmanuel - "God with us." We are going to be looking at the four attribute assigned to the Sunday's of Advent. This video is looking at Hope.
07 Nov, 2021 The End of... what? ... here
Jesus prediction of the Temple destruction included visions of war and earthly catastrophes. But the reality was that this is nothing new. His disciples were not to look for "signs" rather just be prepared when the Romans come to take down the Temple. That means the same for us - just be prepared.
31 Oct, 2021 Heaven, Earth and Jesus... here
The Story of "God with us" continues. The theme of God wishing to bring Heaven to Earth is event even in the Gospel messages as well as Jesus' own teachings. The reality... God wants to replace the hell within us and around us with pockets of Heaven.
24 Oct, 2021 By the Rivers of Babylon... here
Despite all the bad Kings the Israelites had; despite the fact that even the good kings did bad things, God was very Gracious to his people. Even by the River's of Babylon where they wept, they remember Zion. God never gave up on his mission for all of creation.
17 Oct, 2021 God Comes Down... here
The TORAH is foundational for the understanding the rest of Bible... and even Jesus' teachings. The very idea that God is coming down to us; Kingdom of Heaven is being ushered into our world should change the way we approach the question, "Is it really about us? Or, is it really about what God is doing for us?"
26 Sept, 2021 Celebrating 170 years as Kildonan Community Church... here
Celebrating 170 years as a congregation is special. Imagine, it started out with the Great Commission by Jesus to his Disciples as recorded by Luke in ACTS 1:8... "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Guess what, we are part of the "end s of the earth" thing.
19 Sept, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - A Final Message... here
So, you just learned that you will NOT be crossing over into the Promised Land. What do you do? Do you get mad at God? Moses decided to simply accept and prepare God's people for the next part of their journey.
12 Sept, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - In the Dessert... here
The Book of Numbers is not about numbers. It's about a journey. True, there are two censuses taken, but it just highlights that there are two distinct groups; one gets to make it into the Promise Land, the other does not. This is a story of real struggles for the Israelites as they travel.
29 Aug, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - Leviticus and Goats... here
How do we approach God knowing that we completely fall short of His greatness? The Israelite's had a system whereby they used animal scarifies for this atonement. But no-one does this any more; so what do we do now?
22 Aug, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - Starting God's Plan... here
After the planning stage, starts the implementation stage. But what if something goes terribly wrong and plans aren't working out well at all. Do you scrap all your plans? In the end, God doesn't give up; he gives His people a second chance.
15 Aug, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - God has plans for us... here
When you have a big project, you need to make plans. It's not just architectural drawings but also rules and regulations on how the project is going to benefit everyone. God has plans for us... but it's not about us as individuals rather... to create a world fit for God to move in with us.
8 Aug, 2021 Run the Race
Biblical writers equate the Christian life to a long distance race. Life is full of ups and downs, joys, doubts, fears and achievements. Hebrews 12 tells us how to focus our attention on Christ; the author and perfecter of our faith.
1 Aug, 2021 Summer Camps Recap
This video is a collection of thoughts and highlights from the youth leaders about the skate and soccer camps this summer.
25 July, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - What's Plaguing us?... here
So, what's plaguing us now-a-days? It's hard to believe what the year 2020 and 2021 threw at us. Who would have ever thought that so much could happen in so little time. Thirty-five hundred years ago, the Israelite people experienced something similar.
18 July, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - Dysfunctional Families... here
If you think that people of faith have perfect families, you haven't been reading your Bible. It seems that the families of the Abrahamic Religions were born into dysfunctional families since the beginning of time. Why should it be any different today. And... it seems that God is okay with that.
11 July, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - Abraham's Kids... here
It's all about the family; it's all about the clan. it's only been the last 500 years that it's been about us (as individuals). If When Abraham thought of himself, things didn't work out so well. When he thought about God's plan for His people (family/ clan)… it always worked out.
04 July, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - Abraham, Sodom and Gomorrah... here
There is far more to the Sodom and Gomorrah story in the Genesis Story than we let on. If it's just about sexuality, this story sticks out like a bad commercial in the middle of a movie. It's not that it's not in there; it is. However, we then miss a big piece of the story God is trying to get across to us.
27 June, 2021 A 2KRe-reading - Floods and Towers... here
The Flood and Tower story is an integral part of the lessons that teach us about God's plan for humanity. Drawing from the creation story, God's desire for us who remain here on earth is clear: Create an environment that is worth - as we pray - that His Kingdom will come.
20 June, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - The Fall; our real failure... here
So, we like to talk about "The Fall of Humanity" and blame it all on one person. That's just like us; "Let's blame someone else!" Is there another approach to this story that stops us from blaming others and judging others? I think so.
God of mercy, God of grace
Immortal, invisible, God only wise
Glory be to God, creator

Mood Rings...wouldn't it be interesting if we could see how people embody themselves through their emotions, attitudes, and feelings just like mood rings? Does the Christian faith actually effect positive change in people, or does it cause harm? Kevin also shares an update on the youth.
06 June, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - Creation Story... here
The Genesis Creation Story can be a huge stumbling block for some Christians and Non-religious people. The fight is between literal interpretation versus a more Historic - Science understanding. But what if there is something else behind this story - an actual home versus a Bill of Materials for a house.
30 May, 2021 A 2K Re-reading - Foundations... here
Sometimes we need to re-read the Bible in a new context. For thousands of years, each culture read and reflected on Scriptures according to their context within history. We have a new history starting and need a fresh look at who God is for us today.
23 May, 2021 David's Last Words... here
KING DAVID IN A DIGITAL WORLD - Last Words. David's final words are actually a reflection of his time as King. His reflection includes the bad with the good in life and how God remained true to God's Promise (not his own). David also has hope for the future because of God's promise.
16 May, 2021 David-David Absalom Narrative... here
KING DAVID IN A DIGITAL WORLD - Narratives. We are often challenged to only listen to and look for information that fits our narratives. We are often challenged to only deliver the information to others that fit our narrative. It really is a question of identity. Where do you find and build your identity?
09 May, 2021 David-Power versus Nathan... here
KING DAVID IN A DIGITAL WORLD - Power vs Nathan. At times we need to have people around us who are willing to speak the truth to us in Love and Care when we go astray in the Digital World. We certainly can learn from David and Nathan's relationship and honesty.
02 May, 2021 Desires, we all got them... here
KING DAVID IN A DIGITAL WORLD - Desires. Our desires for one-another isn't the problem in life; letting it get the best of it is. There is an unbelievable amount of tempations out there and too many people slip into the false sense of what it will do to/ for us.
25 April, 2021 A Selfie World... here
KING DAVID IN A DIGITAL WORLD - Selfies. What can King David teach us about Selfies in a Social Media World? Plenty. There is a right way and a wrong way to achieve what you are after.
18 April, 2021 This Changes Everything... here
The coming of the Holy Spirit changed everything. The Disciples finally figure out what needs to be done with the help of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we need to figure things out as well; the Holy Spirit is willing and able.
11 April, 2021 Mission of the Cross... here
There is more to the Cross of Jesus than "fire insurance." Sure, there is eternal life (once we die), but what about the time while we are still alive? The Good News is that Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit to help us through life.
04 April, 2021 Easter Sunday message... here
THE EMPTY TOMB - UNBELIEVABLE No-one was waiting outside the Tomb on Sunday Morning because no-one believed that Jesus would be raised from the dead. So, if you still feel challenged with the resurrection story, you are in good company.
Jesus Remember Me
Oh Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go
Take up your cross
Man of Sorrows, Wondrous Name
02 April, 2021, Good Friday
These are amazing song that are worth watching.
Remember that the Cross can only be understood through the Resurrection. Love went to the Cross for our sake. Thanks be to God, our Creator and Redeemer.
The message this week is by Kevin Pauls
Far Across the Burning Desert
Out of Bondage, Sorrow & Night
I Hunger & I Thirst
Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne
21 March, 2010 - Bullies... here
KING DAVID IN A DIGITAL WORLD. Bullies... There are bullies everywhere - even on the Internet. They are called trolls. But how do we deal with them? King David in the digital world has something to say about that.
Oh God We Call
Come and Find the Quiet Centre
When We Are Living
Go Make A Difference
14 March, 2021 - Best Friends Forever... here
KING DAVID IN A DIGITAL WORLD. BFF's... Often we take our friendships for granted. Everyone is a friend. So what does having a real Best Friend Forever mean?
07 March, 2021 - Goliath Problems... here
KING DAVID IN A DIGITAL WORLD. There are times that we face Goliath-sized challenges in life thinking that we need Goliath-sized solutions when in reality, it might be as simple as a shepherd-boy's sling and a few little rocks to get to the solution.
28 February, 2021 - Image is Everything... here
KING DAVID IN A DIGITAL WORLD. Image is everything for some many different people. We spend a lot of time worrying what other people think about us. At times, the image we want to portray of ourselves doesn’t even come close to who we really are. Why do we feel the desire to misrepresent ourselves and not as people who God intended to be.
21 February, 2021 - Kings and Queens ... here
KING DAVID IN A DIGITAL WORLD: In this new digital world, Kings and Queens are now found in every home, challenging the power structures of society and using shame to achieve justice.
14 February, 2021 - Digital World Gospel... here
Welcome to the new culture of the Digital World. It's not about generational differences; it's not about identity differences. This is a new culture in a new world that is seeking Spiritual connections, but just not the way “it’s always been done.” So, what is the Good News for this culture of God’s people.
07 February, 2021 - Fear and Power... here
There are cultures in this world where the Spiritual realm influences every aspect of their lives. They fear that they are mere pawns in life and that they must appease the different spirits to live a worthy life. The Good News of Jesus means that He has conquerred these Spirits and by trusting Him, you no longer have to live fear rather, by His Power.
31 January, 2021 - Honour and Shame... here
Some families and communities value honour more so than laws. Whatever you do, do not do anything that would cause shame within the family or community. That we are human, the likelyhood that we mess up is good. So what is the Good News for people in this case.
24 January, 2021 - Laws of Grace... here
In Western Culture, we let laws define our relationships; "don't break any laws and we'll be fine." But what if the Letter of the Law(s) wasn't intended to define our relationship rather, be useful guiding points to assist us in relationships.
NOTE: The music video mentioned in this message had to be removed; Universal Music Group blocked this message based on copy rights. (Rather unusual because most musicians do not mind having their content used as long as we are not using it for commercial purposes; any money earned in such use would be redirected to the owers of the copy rights (which is controlled through YouTube policy and guidlines, as was the case for other music videos that I have incorporated into previous messages). To see the music video in question, please visit: https://youtu.be/6UXn_OuJkvE to view. it is quite good, in my opinion.
17 January, 2021 - The Gospel for Everyone... here
Translating Gospel into English from Greek is "Good News." But how does the "Good News" play out for people; what is the "Good News" for so many different people? Jesus' approach to the "Good News" can be different for many different people depending on their circumstances.
10 January, 2021 - The Holy Spirit brings life out of chaos...here.
Genesis 1:1-5, Mark 1:10-11.
This video was featured on an Online Course that I am taking. This video is more than just a beer commercial. This is a "need to see" video which I pray will make us think twice about judging people we don't know.
03 January, 2021 - New Year Resolution... here
Christmas Day is done; we're moving forward into the New Year. But how does the cellebration of God coming to us (in the person of Jesus) to usher in a New Convenant with us play out in the coming year? Do your resolutions include Spiritual Growth?
27 December, 2020 - Re-Gifting Christmas... here
Some Gifts were made to give away... and I'm not talking about your uncle's ugly sweater. Jesus is God's gift to use and we are called to give Him away to others.

13 December, 2020 - 3rd Advent A Different Waiting... here
Advent in 2020 seems like a dark place compared to prior years and decades. but as we wait - not only for COVID-19 to end - we can still celebrate "the waiting" (Advent) of Jesus coming to us. It can be a time of personal and Spirital growth.
