UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge 2025
The UKMT SMC is a 90-minute, 25 multiple choice question Challenge aimed at students in Year 13 or below. The problems on the Senior Maths Challenge are designed to make students think, with stimulating problems for both beginning and experienced problem-solvers – past papers can be viewed here: https://ukmt.org.uk/competition-papers/jsf/jet-engine:free-past-papers/tax/challenge-type:76/
Although open to all students in Years 13 and below, students in Years 7 – 11 should look through the past papers linked above before deciding whether to enter this specific competition, or wait for the UKMT Intermediate and Junior Mathematical Challenges taking place later this academic year.
This year, the SMC is taking place during our half-term break on Friday, 10th October at 5pm, and will be held online for students to complete at home (students will need a laptop and phone/tablet device, both with working camera and microphone, for home-based online invigilation). The entry fee is $180 HKD, which parents will be invoiced for through our school’s ePayment system. Detailed logistical information and practice material will be sent to participants directly from the organising company three days prior to the Challenge date.
