Paying for College 101 

Our KHEAA rep, Ms. Montanna McClain, was here on Wednesday September 16th at 6pm in the auditorium to do a presentation about preparing and paying for college.  Please enter SK through the side gym doors.  If you were unable to attend, below are resources she provided to help with understanding admissions, scholarships, grants, FAFSA, and many other important topics as seniors prepare for college.  If you have questions you can email her directly at mmcclain@kheaa.com

FASFA 27-28

FAFSA is projected to open October 1, 2026 for the 27-28 school year.

The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The FAFSA is completed by current and prospective college students to determine their eligibility for student financial aid from the federal government. Many colleges and universities rely on the information provided in the application as well.

FAFSA Night

Our KHEAA rep, Ms. Montanna McClain, will be here on Monday October 19th from 6-7:30pm in the SK Library. Senior parents/guardians and students are invited to work with Ms. McClain if you need help completing and submitting the FAFSA. Please enter SK through the side gym doors.

Attire:

Girls - wear a spaghetti strap shirt so they can put the drape on shoulders without anything showing

Boys - wear a white t-shirt so they can have something on under the tux jacket  

 

Ordering will be through Strawbridge.net.  There will be a code to use.


Cap and Gown/Senior Swag

Jostens will be here to do a presentation for cap and gown and other Senior merchandise on October 15, 2026 during SKORE.  If you are a student not on campus, you are welcome to come to the meeting if possible, just sign in at the main office.  If you are unable to make it or are absent that day, all information discussed at this meeting will be shared with students and parents via email.  A basic cap and gown is required for graduation.  Deadline for orders will be December 18, 2026.  Estimated delivery of orders will be late March 2027.   More information on delivery will be shared at a later date.



Graduation

Truist Arena - Wednesday June 2, 2027 at 7pm.  More details will come in the spring with the Senior Week and Graduation Information document. 


Senior English Presentations

Ms. Robertson will be giving a presentation to all Senior English classes on Monday September 21st.  You can view this presentation here.  She will also give all students a "Getting In" book to help with college planning.  If you are not in an English class at SK, please stop by the main office to get one.
