In accordance with the Kenton County School District Community Based Accountability System, Simon Kenton tracks data in regard to Transition Readiness in the areas of College and Career Readiness. If you click on the document to the left, you can see what indicators qualify a student as College and/or Career Ready. It is the goal of Simon Kenton High School that all students graduate College and Career Ready.
One indicator of Career Readiness is participation in community service based projects. Students must have a minimum of 25 hours of community service by the end of their Senior year in order to meet this indicator for career readiness. The linked Google Form is where we request students submit community service hours to track for Transition Readiness.
One indicator of Career Readiness is participation in a qualifying Work Based Learning Experience. Students must have a minimum of 50 hours of Work Based Learning in order to meet this indicator for career readiness. Student must also upload an updated resume. The linked Google Form is where we request students submit work based learning hours to track for Transition Readiness.
Extra Curricular involvement is another indicator of Career Readiness. If a student is participating in an extra- or co-curricular activity, they have met this indicatory. Complete the linked Google Form to track your participation for Transition Readiness.
Throughout the year various businesses and organizations will be at Simon Kenton to share information about opportunities they have available as well as offer sessions covering essential skills like interviewing, resume building, financial literacy, etc. See each description for more information.
