Attendance Notes
Our attendance system is paperless. If your child is absent or needs an early release, email a note to attendance.sk@kenton.kyschools.us and our staff will take care of excusing the absences.
FREE Health Careers Summer Camp
Students in current grades 9-11 will have the opportunity to meet with healthcare professionals and participate in simulation labs. Basic Life Support Certification is part of the camp.
Students can choose from June 1-4 or June 8-11. The camp will be held at the Gateway Edgewood Campus.
Lunch and snacks are provided each day.

Spring 2026 SAT Junior State Administration – Official SAT Practice
Students are encouraged to begin preparing now for the Spring 2026 SAT Junior State Administration, which will take place between March 2 and April 10, 2026.
Practicing ahead of test day helps students build confidence, strengthen skills, and become familiar with the digital testing format.
Free, high-quality resources are available through Official SAT Practice, including full-length practice tests. Encourage students to explore these tools early and make practice part of routines this year.
Free ACT Prep Events @ Boone County Public Library
Club Z Tutoring will provide an overview of strategies to prepare students for taking the ACT. Afterwards, each participant will receive a code to take an online practice test.

College Rep Visits 25-26
Below are the dates and links to sign-up for the colleges/universities who will be at SK this fall to meet with interested students. They will be here during SKORE. You will receive a pass to come to the meeting.
Paying for College 101
Our KHEAA rep, Ms. Montanna McClain, was here on Thursday September 25th to do a presentation about preparing and paying for college. If you were unable to attend, below are some resources she provided to help with understanding admissions, scholarships, grants, FAFSA, and many other important topics as seniors prepare for college. If you have questions you can email her directly at mmcclain@kheaa.com
St. Elizabeth Healthcare High School Volunteer Program
If you are seeking service hours, a way to meet teens from over 40 high schools and scholarship opportunities - we have a place for you. Students age 14 and older are eligible. There are 3 sessions throughout the year. Shifts are available 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 8am - 8pm. Students typically serve 3-4 hours per week. The 2025 application is now open. XELLO/ ILP Completion Information
All students in the state of Kentucky must complete an ILP (Individualized Learning Plan) each school year. The Kenton County School District uses XELLO as the ILP. Students should be finished with all lessons by January 31st.
Students who are in-person at Simon Kenton have time during 4th period to work on their ILP.
Students who do not have an in-person 4th period class need to complete their XELLO lessons/activities on their own time.
