Students from Ms. Twombley's French classes will be embarking on a journey through France this Spring break! This cultural immersion will include tours of Paris, the Loire Valley, and Nice. Vive La France!
The Kearsarge Regional High School National Honor Society hosted the 11th Annual Blood Drive in partnership with the American Red Cross on March 18th. We were honored to welcome over 60 donors—including students, teachers, staff, and community members—who came together for this lifesaving cause. Despite some unavoidable deferrals, we successfully collected 44 units of blood, each of which will go on to help save lives.
This event would not have been possible without the incredible support of our school community and the dedicated team from the Red Cross. Thank you for your time, kindness, and commitment to making a difference. We look forward to continuing this tradition for many more years and hope to see you at our future blood drives!
Kearsarge Regional High School (KRHS) is excited to announce the launch of a cutting-edge Kit Car Building Program that will provide students with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in automotive engineering, mechanics, and design.
As part of KRHS’s commitment to career and technical education, this program will allow students to build a fully functional vehicle from a kit, working through every stage of assembly with guidance from experienced instructors and industry professionals. Students will develop critical skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and mechanical engineering while gaining insight into potential career paths in automotive design, engineering, and manufacturing.
To fund the program’s startup costs, KRHS is seeking support through outside sponsors, grants, and private funding. After the initial build, the completed vehicle will be sold, with proceeds reinvested into the program to fund future builds and expand opportunities for students. This self-sustaining model ensures that the program can grow and continue to provide real-world learning experiences for years to come.
The program is open to grades 10-12 and will begin at the start of the 2025/2026 school year. Enrollment is limited, and interested students are encouraged to apply early.
How to Get Involved
KRHS welcomes support from local businesses, automotive enthusiasts, and community members who wish to contribute through sponsorships or donations.

On Friday, March 21, KRHS Staff worked with Don Smith from FIRST Educational Resources. Earlier this month, Don conducted an assessment and grading analysis at Kearsarge Regional High School (KRHS) to examine existing practices, identify strengths, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. KRHS is in its first year of full implementation of Competency-Based Education (CBE), and this analysis aimed to support teachers and administrators in refining their grading and assessment processes. Through discussions with teachers across departments, it became clear that KRHS has built a strong foundation for CBE by establishing clear competencies and learning targets, ensuring a separation of academic and behavior grades, and fostering a commitment to mastery learning. While educators are dedicated to student success, the transition to CBE has presented challenges and targeted Professional Development is ongoing as demonstrated by the work session on March 21, 2025.
FIRST Educational Resources is committed to providing 4K-12 Public and Private Educators throughout the globe with the most powerful, and sustainable professional learning in the market.
FIRST Educational Resources currently has 8 comprehensive divisions focusing on the following areas: Assessment and Grading, Collective Efficacy, Literacy and Coaching, Mathematics, Professional Learning Communities, Science and Agriculture, Social Emotional Learning and Publishing.
K-12 Schools have become the top targets for cyber attacks and ransomware attacks. In an effort to keep students and staff safe and comply with educational laws, Google has made changes to its non-core services, including YouTube. These restrictions have been in place for other non-core services for quite some time, but YouTube is the latest to tighten its security.
Effective April 1st, 2025, Google will implement some restrictions on how students can view YouTube videos. This change will not affect how teachers access these services. What will change is that students will lose the ability to access YouTube directly. Teachers can still share YouTube videos with students in controlled ways, such as embedding videos in Google Classroom assignments, Google Slides, Google Forms, or by sharing links in a Google Doc. Students will view YouTube videos only in preview mode. Student learning will not be affected by these changes since videos assigned by teachers will still be able to be viewed by students.

Remember that it is a KRSD Graduation requirement to complete 20 hours of community service by the time you graduate. Families of those students in the graduating class of 2025 will be receiving letters if limited hours have been recorded at the school. Forms to submit community service can be found on the school website, in your Advisory Google Classroom, and picked up in the Guidance Office. Completed forms should be turned in at the main office or guidance office to be logged.
Anything left in lost and found will be dontated at the end of quarter 3 (and again if anything remains before summer), so if you are missing an item, walk by the cafe and see if your item is in the lost and found!

What is Dual Enrollment?
Dual enrollment allows high school students to take college courses while still in high school. These courses count for both high school and college credit, helping students get ahead in their education.
Students enroll in classes at a local community college, university, or through an online program.
Classes can be taken on the college campus or virtually.
Upon passing the course, students earn both high school and college credit.
✅ Save Money – College courses taken through dual enrollment are often discounted or free, reducing future college costs.
✅ Earn College Credit Early – Helps students graduate college sooner or lighten their workload.
