News and Announcements
As part of an ongoing 10-year accreditation cycle, families are being asked to help Kearsarge Regional High School reflect on our practices by providing survey feedback. This process of self-reflection provides for continuous reassessment in light of both changing school and community needs and advances in pedagogy and school administration/organization.
You can find more information on NEASC on the Resources for Public Schools page.
Below is the link to the family survey. There is no password protection for the survey. Anyone with the link can complete the survey. Once someone begins the survey, they must complete the entire survey in one session. If they leave the survey, they will lose all their progress and be required to start from the beginning.
If you have already complete this survey, there is no need to complete it again.
This survey will be emailed to families directly in a few weeks.

Advanced Studies Program at St. Paul's for summer 2025
The fully residential ASP is built to evoke the academic community of a college. Students, interns and faculty study, eat, play and live together in single-sex dormitories. The program makes use of virtually every facility at the School, from the Astronomy Center and the Engineering Lab to Orhstrom Library and the Athletic and Fitness Center. This depth of shared experience — with students invited from over 80 high schools across the state — allows for academic experimentation, personal growth and connecting with the natural world throughout the 2,000 acres of the grounds. Graduates of the ASP know that as they look ahead to their life after high school they are prepared academically and socially to excel in college. https://www.sps.edu/asp-summer

All Kearsarge Regional High School students in grades nine (9), ten (10), and eleven (11) will be taking the PSAT 9, or PSAT/NMSQT in school Thursday, October 10th. Grade twelve (12) students who have not submitted a completed Capstone Proposal Letter, due October 4th, must be in school to complete their proposal on Thursday, October 10th. This test will take approximately three hours. Students will finish for the day at approximately 11:30 AM.
The PSAT is a digital test and only school-issued Chromebooks may be used. Let the school counseling office know if you need to borrow a device ASAP. Students should also bring a scientific or graphing calculator. Cell phone and/or smartwatch use will not be permitted. There will be short breaks and bringing a snack and a water bottle from home is also suggested.
The PSAT is the official practice exam for the SAT and it measures the skills and knowledge that research has shown are the most essential for college and/or career readiness and success. The Reading Test measures comprehension and reasoning skills and focuses on close reading of passages in a wide array of subject areas. The Writing and Language Test measures a range of skills including command of evidence, expression of ideas, and the use of standard English conventions in grammar and punctuation. The Mathematics Test covers a range of math practices, with an emphasis on problem-solving, modeling, using tools strategically, and using algebraic structure.
All students who are testing may be dismissed from the school following testing if they have permission from a parent or guardian. Testing sessions will begin promptly at 8:00 AM. Students should plan to arrive at school at their normal time. Students will not be admitted late or dismissed during testing sessions. According to the guidelines set by the College Board, should a student miss a portion of the testing session, the results will be considered invalid.
Buses will run at their normal times on this day both in the morning and the afternoon. Buses will arrive at KRHS and depart on the normal schedule. If you would like to dismiss your child after the exam ends, please send them with a dismissal form.
Grade twelve (12) students that have completed their proposal will check in with their advisors prior to PSAT day about their plan for Senior Activities on PSAT day. Senior Project and Community Service hours are two activities that should be prioritized on this day. Should all these activities be up to date, post-secondary planning/applications/visits can be made.

Other News
Gratitude is a powerful way to shift your mindset from what's lacking to what's abundant in your life. Regularly practicing gratitude can enhance your mood, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being. Encouraging students to reflect on what they are thankful for can help them develop a positive outlook, even in challenging times.
Technique: The Gratitude Journal
This week, try keeping a gratitude journal. At the start or end of each day, write down three things you’re grateful for. These can be as simple as a sunny day, a friendly conversation, or a good meal. Encourage students to do the same, perhaps as a daily or weekly classroom activity. Reflecting on these moments of gratitude can help you (and your students) start the day with a positive mindset.
The KRHS Athletic Boosters would love to have the Snack Shack in full operation for all our Soccer and Football home games this season.
We are looking for crock pot donations, grill masters, cashiers as well as gate fee collectors. Please sign up here so we can keep track. Thanks in advance for your support! Go Cougars!
