stray dogs

stray dogs

they're just as lost

seen one in an island

no timeframe

no plan

just observing the land

walking on the beach

vans on my hands

It sits still, while the world's in motion

as the foamy edges of the ocean

touch my feet

and proceeds to swallow its devotion

I follow its marks

unlike the dogs at the park

this one doesn’t bark

reminds me of one I had

paws deep in the sand

footprints of a desolate man

as I approach the brown colored dog

It leaves my sight, wanders away

no company needed, I lingered my stay

and in my head, deep in thought, I say

If the most loyal creature can’t find a place

what hope is there for the human race

sheer disgrace.
