I’ll Only Fall Asleep at Ungodly Hours

One in the morning

and the only light

is a speck of the

brightest stars, fighting to

reach the scope of

my vision, but all

that breaches my wet

lashes is blue.

Because it’s

One in the morning

and your bodies are

most definitely intertwined

- a constellation

of what I find to

be the dimmest stars

in the sky.

And it’s One in the morning

yet the affection I need

isn’t reaching my heart

and I swear,

his skin doesn’t feel the same

and his eyes pierce through

me with

sadistic thoughts.

One in the morning

and I’m sure you’re asleep

but as soon as he’s

done, he leaves and

I know you’d stay and

We’d burn like the

sun -forever.

Yet I believe I am

One in the mourning

of what might be

if we stopped chasing

comet tails and just

wished upon ourselves.
