Hi, my name is Cobie, and I’m a sophomore at VIS International School. This year, I have the honor of serving as your President of ECOSOC at LINMUN, marking my 18th conference and fifth time chairing.
Beyond MUN, I’m a passionate scuba diver and an enthusiast of cuisines of all kinds. Although you’ll often find me golfing, I still kind of suck at it. I’m also a terrible singer who might randomly start singing if you happen to mention any of my trigger words, so, consider that your warning.
My MUN journey traces back to the winter of eighth grade; however, the defining moment that truly ignited my “spark” came in February 2025, when I participated as a single delegate for the first time. That shaped my core principle in MUN, though cliché, I truly hope all of you can overcome your fear of public speaking, or perhaps the fear of engaging with others, over the course of this two-day conference.
Lastly, I want to remind everyone that MUN is not solely about debate. The United Nations is, at its heart, a forum for negotiation and collaboration. Debate certainly has its place when ideals clash, but it should never be the only focus. Always remember to listen, ask questions, and actively seek diversity and inclusion within the committee, and you will discover the true essence of diplomacy.
With that, I can’t wait to meet you all in March!
Hi everyone! My name is Julian Chu, a sophomore from Dominican International School(DIS), and I am thrilled to serve as your deputy president for ECOSOC, along with Cobie.
I have been part of the Model United Nations for 4 years, and I enjoyed how MUN challenges us to leap out of our comfort zones. I remember the start of my own MUN journey, being a complete novice at my first conference.
Now, I've chaired 3 conferences, and it is my honor to guide you through LINMUN VI. I hope that this committee will give you a new opportunity to explore a wider perspective on global issues while developing skills that you will use for a lifetime.
Apart from MUN, I enjoy longboard dancing, acting, and I play volleyball and basketball. Feel free to contact me through email(1800102@dishs.tp.edu.tw) or Instagram(julian_wang_chu). I look forward to meeting all of you and working together to make this conference a memorable experience for everyone!
