Term 3 Week 1

Kia ora Base 3 whānau,

Welcome back from your term break, we have loved hearing from the tamariki about what they got up to in their holidays and are glad to see them so excited to be back at school. We are looking forward to a term filled with lots of learning infused with fun and adventure!

There is lots coming up this term, so please make sure you keep an eye out on Hero and our newsletters so that you don't miss any updates.

Attendance:
Our goal this term is attendance. We want to be the highest attending base in the school! Last term our attendance was 88.4%  We are aiming for this to be above 90%! Please support your child to be at school everyday and to arrive before the bell which is 8:30am.

Ambury Farm Trip:
Your child should have brought home a form about our trip to Ambury Farm on the 4th of August. Please have a read through the form for details and send in the attached slip if you are able to help us make this trip possible by coming along as a parent helper.

Jewellery:
As part of our school dress code here at Kauri Flats School, we ask that tamariki refrain from wearing jewellery. This is for safety reasons as well as us wanting to keep their precious jewellery safe.

Uniform:
We understand the weather has been unpredictable however it is really important that children come to school wearing our correct school uniform. If students are wearing an incorrect item of clothing, we ask that they carry a note explaining why.

As always, we thank you for supporting both kaiako and tamariki and look forward to celebrating many more successes this term.

Ngā mihi,
Base 3 kaiako

Science Roadshow

On Wednesday 19 July 2023 we had the privilege of watching some science experiments, some of the students even got to be involved in these and everyone had a good time checking out the science displays and doing the activities around the hall.

Matariki

During the school holidays it was Matariki (The Maori new year) we learnt about this in the last week of term two and did some Art. Then in Term 3 we set some goals for the Term ahead.

End of Term 2:

To finish off our Term 2 strong, we had a celebration of Literacy and had fun dressing up as characters we have loved to read about and watch on our screens.

We also celebrated the end of our UC4L by learning to make soup!
