Host a meeting, don't invite anyone, click record, and teach! You can "share your screen" and choose a whiteboard within Zoom or share something you want to show on your computer screen. When finished, the file will save to a Zoom folder on your computer.
Open Zoom and Host a New Meeting (you just won't invite anyone else)
Choose to Record the Meeting
Record yourself, share your screen using the whiteboard or your computer screen, etc.
When finished, the video will compress.
The video will automatically save to a Zoom folder in your documents. The Zoom recordings will each be in a separate folder based on the date and time of your recording.
You will want to use the bottom file (named zoom_0) to share your video. It is an .mp4 video file. The others will not share nicely.
This file can be uploaded to Google Drive, the share settings changed to anyone with the link can view then the link shared as needed.
In Canvas, the file can be added as a file to a module or inserted on a page using the Record/Upload Media button.
Note: Recording will not work on mobile devices or Chromebooks.

Try using your computer's integrated camera (webcam). Depending on your computer, you may be able to use the integrated webcam to record videos. The directions below are from a campus Yoga.
Search for Camera and open the app
Choose Video
Record and your recording will save automatically to your Documents > Pictures > Camera Roll

Screencastify is a Google Chrome extension that allows you to record yourself via webcam, and record what's on your computer screen.
When you record in Screencastify, it saves the video directly to your Google Drive, so you can get the link to the video, then add the link to Canvas or Seesaw. Or you can download the video and add it to Canvas or Seesaw as a file.
You must install the Screencastify extension - click here to do that. You can sign in using your Katy ISD Google account.

Screencastify has a 5 minute recording limit for the free version.
If you have SMART Notebook on your computer, use the SMART Recorder to record your computer screen. You can choose where to save your files once you stop the recording.
Choose the SMART Recorder from your toolbar in SMART
Click the record button and move the small toolbar on your screen if needed.
If you don’t see the SMART Recorder button, choose the settings gear, under Actions, click, drag, and drop the SMART Recorder to your SMART Toolbar.
Click the Recorder button and the red record button to start your recording.
When you stop the recording, you will be given the option to rename and choose where you want to save the recording. This will be a .wmv (Windows Media Video File).
You can record yourself via webcam directly in a Canvas Page. Recording directly in Canvas is easy because there's nothing to save and upload.
Use the Record/Upload Media button in Canvas's pages, assignments, discussions, and quizzes to create quick videos to share with students. They even embed directly on the page with no extra work.
Click on the Record/Upload Media button when editing the page.
You can use this recording button when creating a page, assignment, discussion or quiz.
The video will embed right on the page when you stop recording.

On any desktop computer or laptop, you can access Screencast-o-matic through their website and click "Start Recording for Free". It allows you to record anything on your desktop, and you can change from one window to another, and advance PowerPoint slides as you record.
Screencast-o-matic has a 15 minute limit in the free version.

Note: If you upload the PowerPoint directly to Google Drive, it will NOT save the audio!
Alternatives:
Export the PowerPoint as a video file. Watch the tutorial video. This can be uploaded to Google Drive, Canvas, etc.
Use Screencast-o-matic to record your screen as you flip through the slides and speak over them. This can be uploaded to Google Drive, Canvas, etc.
Did you mess up in the middle of your recording, and need to cut it out? If you have Windows 10, you can use the Photos app to do so. Watch this tutorial video to learn how.
If your video file is too big to attach to an email, you can upload it to your Google Drive and share the link.
In your Google Drive, click New.
Click File Upload.
Choose the file you want to upload.
4. Right click on the file and select Share.
5. Click Advanced
6. Click Change.
7. Select "Anyone with the link".
8. Click Save.
9. Copy the link URL to share.
