Family Health Center
"Family Health Center welcomes EVERY PERSON through our doors regardless of ability to pay.
If you need help, FHC Financial Counselors will work with you to determine whether you qualify for our Sliding Fee Scale, what other resources may be available to you, and how to create a payment plan that works within your budget. We can also offer referrals to other programs, help you navigate the Medicaid system and assist with paperwork and translation as needed."
Ask to speak with a Financial Counselor at Family Health Center if you are having difficulty paying your bill, have lost your job, are uninsured, or you’re simply worried about budgeting for your health care. Our calm, kind and caring staff is here to help you find solutions for healthy living!
Family Health Center’s Mobile Health Clinic is a 40-foot-long, 300-square-foot clinic providing quality care (physicals, immunizations, well-child visits, etc.) to underserved young people and family members in the Kalamazoo Public Schools district. The unit was funded through a generous grant from The Learning Network of Greater Kalamazoo and operates in partnership with Communities In Schools – Kalamazoo and Kalamazoo Public Schools
Samaritas
New in 2018 is the Samaritas Refugee Health Navigation and Education Program! Briefly, this program will provide case management services for up to 180 days and aims to remove barriers to health literacy and self-sufficiency by empowering refugees out in the community to learn how to navigate the healthcare system and maintain healthy lives here in Michigan. Anyone can send a referral but depending on the case load, there may be a waiting list.
To be eligible for the program, individuals must hold refugee status, have already received their 90 days of RP services from resettlement agency, have lived in the U.S. less than 5 years, have a legitimate need for one of the below services:
American Healthcare System Access/Orientation
Medication Compliance Education (pharmacy training, pill tracker, etc.)
Medicaid or Health Insurance Assistance (picking the correct plan, DHHS education, etc.)
Translated Health Education Materials (diabetes, hypertension, how to call 911, etc.)
