  1. Walker Scholarship Fund via the Kalamazoo Community Foundation (KCF): This scholarship is for students who left a home country to immigrate to the United States. Applicants must be a resident of Kalamazoo County, or are graduating or graduated from a high school, alternative school, or GED program within Kalamazoo County. Applicants must be enrolled in or planning to enroll (part-time or full-time) in either 1) a degree program at a community college or a technology curriculum in a community college, trade, or vocational school (must have a minimum 2.0 GPA), or 2) a degree program at a college or university (must have a minimum 2.5 GPA). The award amount varies and it’s renewable for one additional year. The Walker Scholarship is one of 60 scholarships that students apply for at the KCF using just one application, the General Application. If a student intending to apply for the Walker Scholarship completed that application, KCF would match them up with all possible scholarships they would be eligible for, not just the Walker.
