Treaty of Waitangi

To start off our inquiry we talked what we already know about Waitangi Day and how we each celebrate our national holiday. We discovered we all celebrate it differently. We drew some pictures to show this...

We also found out more about what the purpose of a treaty is. We discovered that treaties are like an agreement between two or more people to help them live together fairly and peacefully. Together we discussed problems that might come up for us in our learning this year, and they way we could overcome these problems. We then agreed our own classroom treaty to allow us all to learn safely, and in harmony together this year. We all signed it!
