Skip Counting
Skip Counting:
In Multiplication, students will skip count the amount of times needed to reach an answer. In division, students will choose a number to skip count by to see if they can reach the intended target number. Students will adjust as needed.

Strategies to Support Student Learning:
begin to encourage repeated addition and eventually the doubling strategy
when students begin repeated addition, have them use skip counting and then practice recording their work as an addition sentence to help make the connection between both strategies.
encourage students to build each group as they count using connecting cubes or other manipulatives
