Do you have TbayTel cellular service where you live?
If NO, please return the phone, the hotspot will not work where you are unfortunately.
Does the phone show as having service, connected to TbayTel?
If NO, try moving the phone to a window or outside wall.
Does the phone show "Emergency Calls Only"?
If YES, then the phone has no service and will not work. Please return the phone.
Have you turned on the Hotspot using the instructions given to you?
If NO, Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot & Tethering > Mobile Hotspot - ON
Is the Chromebook able to connect to the kp-spot SSID?
If NO, check that the Chromebook has Wi-Fi turned on
If NO, try moving the Chromebook closer to the hotspot
If NO, check that they are using the correct password, kpdsbk12
NOTE: An Activated phone will show the 4G or LTE cellular designation, IF you have TBayTel Cellular service in your area. Also use one of the ways below to make sure Mobile Data is turned on, as some phones have the Data switched off.
Pull down menu from the top and see if Mobile Data is Blue.
